So why are conifers found in lower sediments than cedars? Cedar is more dense than pine, BTW.

Because the softer pine saturates, waterlogs, and sinks faster than the denser cedar. :tongue

Imagineering won't help. Besides, it doesn't explain why rooted pine trees are below rooted hardwoods.

So you're arguing that they grew roots as they sunk?

Just as the catastrophic model predicts.

As usual, the "catastrophic model" is just making things up as they go along. You guys would have been better off with the "Cedar trees can run faster than pine trees" story.
 
Maybe we need a time out for thumper. He's getting a little cranky now.

When you figure out how those trees ran so fast, let us know.
