Well,Thanksgiving is over and we move on to our next Holiday which is Christmas.
Do you have any pet peeves regarding Christmas?Mine are:
1.Decorations for Christmas go up in October.
2. The stations start playing Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving.
3. When someone says "Happy Holidays" and I say "Merry Christmas" to them and they give me a dirty look.
4. When going around to see the houses that are decorated and there is not one Nativity scene. All Santa Claus,Reindeer and Snow Men.

I hate to say this but the world sees Christmas a bit different then the believer does.

I need to do a thread on what is exactly meant by peace on earth in the bible. its akin to shalom. if The Lord came by to your home and said Shalom Kathi and you are a jew, you would be very fearful.

I used to work with several Jewish people. They would say Merry Christmas to us out of respect.

My kids, and now my grandchildren, were/are raised with the knowledge that Christmas is our way of celebrating our Lord Jesus' birth. The dinner table has for its center piece a ceramic birthday cake, with a cake-scented candle burning inside the decorative cake. We sing Happy Birthday to Jesus.

I don't go to the bother of getting a live tree for just my son and myself. My son used to have a 3 ft. artificial tree but the lights burned out so we have not had a tree in the last two years. We don't miss it.

I have an artificial tree. and one menorah, which will be lit soon. and on Christmas eve both shall be lit. I may place the menorah where it should be in the window.

One year when my daughter was a toddler we bought a 3 ft. circular fence for around the tree.It worked great. No disasters with her attacking the tree.

One year our dog attacked the tree while we were gone.My daughter had made a dog bone ornament at school and put it on the tree.Kandy was determined to get that treat.I still don't know how she did it.

The tradition started before my son was born. It's a lovely reminder to everyone.

One year, my older daughter was dating a young man from the UAE. He joined us for Christmas, and even joined us in singing Happy Birthday. He was very polite, and asked a lot of questions about our faith. When they were getting ready to leave, he thanked us for allowing him to be a part of our Christmas, and for showing him a beautiful example of what he had only heard about: Christian faith.
