What are we to understand regarding the sons of God and daughters of men? Were there Giants on the earth, as a result of the relationship between the sons of God and daughters of men? What distinguishes the daughters of men from the sons of God?
The sons of God and daughters of men is a false doctrine
1 Tim 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.
The sons of God and daughters of men doctrine is one of these fables!
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
These fables exist simply because men who are without the Spirit of knowledge, can not even begin to really understand the Word of God.
Gen 3:9-10 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Did the Lord God who created all things by merely speaking them into existence, really not know what Adam had done? The spiritual differences between the sons of God and daughters of men, are well known by the Lord. There is indeed a Blessing for those that are called the sons of God (Matt 5:9). The sons of god were not to intermingle with the daughters of ungodly men.
2 Cor 6:1 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
The sons of God and daughters of men theory is the stuff of science fiction, it has no place in the minds of those who are in Christ.
If it were possible, the false Christ and false prophet would deceive the very elect (Matt 24:24). How easy will it be to deceive those who already believe in fairy tales.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Without the Spirit of knowledge, mankind can not realize the awesome power of God. Also they are unable to discern between truth and fiction.
The sons of God and daughters of men - Who were the sons of God?
Gen 4:26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
To come up with an interpretation of the sons of God and daughters of men referring to fallen angels, having sexual relationships with earthly women, is simply ludicrous.
Deut 14:1-2 Ye are the children of the LORD your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
The sons of God and daughters of men, also represents the children of God, and all others who were not the people of God (Exodus 6:7).
Job 1:1-2 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
The notion that fallen angels would be able to present themselves before God is ludicrous.
Hosea 1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
To understand the sons of God and who this endearing term refers to, we only need to look at God’s own description of which people He considers His children.
Ex 29:45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.
There is a clue early on in Genesis. The sons of God call upon the name of the Lord.
Most who subscribe to the sons of God and daughters of men theory, also believe in two separate creation events. The first creation is to be found in Genesis 1:1 thru 2:3. The second creation is apparently found in Genesis 2:4, and following.
God clearly defines the identity of the sons of God and daughters of men
Gen 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
The fairy tale of the false teachers within the church, would have us to believe that Cain went and found his wife within the group of people from this first creation.
Gen 4:25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
The genealogy of the generations of Adam, Noah, Abraham and David do not include every one that is born. Out of these generations God would choose faithful men who were declared righteous through Christ (Luke 1:5-6, Rom 1:17, Heb 10:38).
Matt 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
The lineage of Cain who was taken by evil resulting in works of wickedness, is found in Genesis 4:16-23. You shall know them that are of the wicked one by the fruits they produce ( Math 7:17, 1 John 3:12, Jude 1:11).
Gen 5:1-3 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth.
The sons of God and daughters of men, represent two very different genealogies. The generations listed in the above verse do not mention Cain, but his lineage would refer to the daughters of men.
