The two types who will be thrown in the Lake of Fire

Revelation 21. 8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Recenty I have been focussing on this scripture which the Apostle John wrote. The two words I have underlined cause me to ask a few questions:-

  • Those who reject Jesus
  • Those who lack faith.
  • All Liars.
In Hebrews 11.6 Without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. Does this suggest that those who outright reject Christ and those of us who are Christians and do not have faith are in the same boat. From what I understand if you doubt you do not believe. I believe that faith is critical to our Christian walk. If we doubt God we are in essence saying he is a liar and cannot perform the promises he has made. When I read the journey of Israel, their doubting caused real problems for them.

I have often wondered why there is the ALL concerning Liars.
What if it read and liars... would there be a difference... Just a thought.
Hope this can generate some discussion. As the end draws near our Christianity will be tested severely and therefore we must have faith and continually trust God even when things don't make sense to us.
Hi Abide,
Many good answers here.
The most important are that it is not sins that cause us to lose our salvation but unbelief and absence of faith.

I just would like to add that when we read Revelation 21 or 1 Corinthians 5 it does not really refer to a one time sin but rather to a lifestyle.

If I lie it does not make me a liar,
But a liar lies all the time.

There is a difference.
If I steal I am not a thief, but a thief steals all the time.

It is the NATURE of the person that makes that person be what they are.
It seems to me that this is an important concept to understand.

When we know Christ, our nature changes and we tend toward the good and to become more like Him. This is how the Holy Spirit helps us.

dirtfarmer here

The one question that must be answered before any conclusion can be drawn: Are people sinners because they sin or do people sin because they are sinners? It is my belief that we are born sinners because of the sin that Adam committed. Adam was innocent, without sin, until he ate of the fruit that Eve offered him. We are told in scripture that Adam was not deceived, but willfully disobeyed the command that God gave to not eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

The reason that God drove him out of the garden was to protect "the tree of life". Had Adam ate of " the tree of life" before God clothed him with those skins and drove him from the garden, he would have lived forever separated from God with no salvation provided. We are told that Adam was made in God's image and likeness, because the covering of light was removed, he knew that he was "naked"; without a covering for his disobedience. God made coats of skin and covered, both he and Eve and drove them out of the presence of the tree of life.

If you will notice in Genesis 5 Adam's offspring was not in the image and likeness of God but in the image and likeness of Adam. They were born sinners and so has every person born since them that have and earthly father and mother. Jesus had an earthly mother but the Spirit was his father, therefore the nature to sin was not passed down to him. He was born sinless, God manifest in the flesh. No sin ever dwelt in his flesh.

On the cross the penalty for sin was paid by Christ; the power of sin was rendered powerless over those that believe in Christ as their substitute. So as believers in Christ, the death, separation from God has been voided and we now has access to the Father's presence. Sin no longer rules in the life of a believer, it is only when we are overtaken in fault that sin happens in the life of a believer. Then when the restitution of all things occur and the believer is either resurrected or changed in the moment and twinkling of an eye, will we be saved from the presence of sin.

If it is our sins that make us sinners, then we can lose our salvation, but if we are born sinners, the sins committed by the believer only breaks fellowship with God. it has no affect on our relationship with Him. I find it hard to reconcile "free will" to unbelievers. It is only after salvation that we have the ability to serve God or not serve God.

At the judgment seat of Christ, will those that stand before it works be judged to determine entrance into heaven or for the giving of rewards for works that glorify Christ. It is for rewards, not an entrance into heaven, they are already there. 1000 years after this is the "great white throne" and the dead, small and great, will stand before God and the books will be opened and also the book of life and their works will be judged to determine the severity of punishment for their works

I find it hard to reconcile "free will" to unbelievers. It is only after salvation that we have the ability to serve God or not serve God.
The concept of freewill is overrated when you look at Pharaoh and Jonah. God softened and hardened Pharaoh's heart, and dragged Jonah kicking and screaming.

Having doubt isn't the same as unbelief. God can call you forward, and although you have doubt, you can still have faith and believe in Him to step forward. If you're faith is as small as a mustard seed and you tell a mountain to move, it will move. I don't know about anyone else but I've never been able to move a mountain on command. My faith must be smaller than a mustard seed. And it's by the faith of Christ that saves. His faith. His work. No one gets to boast and say "It was my faith that saved me".

I would rethink your doctrine Rebel. Your not going to move a mountain since you already stated you have never been able to remove one. That is faith itself, as Faith believes something for the future.

No one can boast it was their faith that saved them?
Jesus must have been wrong then.

Mat_9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Mat_15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Mar_5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

1Jn_5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Is Doubt the not the same as unbelief?

Doubt Stopped Peter from one of His greatest miracles ever.
Mat_14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Mar_11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

I can see why no mountains will be obeying your command in the future.

What if you doubt?
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth (Same Greek word for Doubt-diakrinō) is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
(Jas 1:6-7)
You still think you receive anything from God with any doubt? Better think again.

Is it by Jesus Faith that we are saved (Born again?)
Joh_3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Do I need to keep posting all the scriptures?

Mustard seed faith:
Does faith as small as a mustard seed move tree's or mountains?

NO, that is not what Jesus said, small faith moves nothing. .......................... This is what happens when we don't compare spiritual with spiritual, Line upon Line, and not seek as we ought. We have misunderstanding, which is rooted in not being sold out to doing God's will with every area of our life.

Jesus said the tree moves IF you have faith, and it Always starts as the grain of a mustard seed. What else did He say though?

Mar 4:14 The sower soweth the word.
Mar 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
Mar 4:31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
Mar 4:32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

Birds can't hide and be protected underneath the grain of a Mustard seed, The seed must be planted, it starts small, you continue to meditate on the promises, you take heed to what you hear, you believe initially God's Word is true. That seed of the Word of God grows, it becomes larger and larger on the inside of you until any physical circumstances is overcome by the faith of that big mustard tree that is produced in you.

Faith is a choice, it's why the Lord used me to stop a tornado, Heal the sick, and in many other awesome things. It's because I choose to believe the Word despite not seeing the results. I choose to meditate day in night in scriptures and confessed, I lay hands on the sick, the must always recover, I hear the good Shepard, a strangers voice I will never follow. I know the difference when I hear as the Holy Spirit brings to remembrance the things He said.............. So on.

So, if the issue requires the impossibility of a tree jumping up from the ground and diving into the ocean, then Jesus said if you have faith the grain of a mustard seed, that tree will obey you.

We must plant the seed first, it will grow in us, we don't know how and it will spring up if we continue to take heed and not give up. Soon what was out of reach and impossible becomes possible.

long enough.
Mike.

Lovers of themselves. The first couple minutes is insane. Joel completly brainwashing people to love themselves in Gods name. What a snake. All those brainwashed people are just going to get more depressed each week because its all a lie, God does not bless lovers of themselves, so they keep going back to church for there feel good hit and give money so only the elite few get payed there millions and live there sold out luxury lifestyle and take there reward in full by satan for there faithful service. Its a evil curse and nasty circle.

satan dont need focus on outside the church, they already lovers of themselves.

Amazing how the truth Teachers have small crowds. They aint feeding itchy ears.

Everyone are wreatched, I guarentee even the most prosperous and happy sounding and preaching people have issues and problems in life. You can't meet Christ if your exalted because he doesn't know the proud. If your a lover of yourself trying to seek the best of this world you will never have the truth.

The amount of people who have everything in this life are just as depressed on the inside and dead in spirit as the people who don't have anything, even the amount of testimony from non believers is amazing. Its not about living a great life and prosperity that only rusts and is on the outside, but peace in the mind and soul on the inside. God does not promise health and wealth on this earth. Dont sell out to satan thinking God will solve all your problems and get depressed when he doesn't.

It makes me sick when i see these people trying to exalt people to make them feel better telling them they are something they are not, as in, they dont need God they can do it themselves, its only going to make them more depressed, they don't need anything more than there daily heavenly bread to be rich in Spirit and overcome any obsticle.

If all liars ended up in hell-then the lake of fire, then get ready everyone.
Who here has never told a "fib" (half truth) (white lie).
So, if you deny this, you just lied...... = lake of fire for you.
Ridiculous, isnt it?

Ive good news for you, if you are saved. (born again).
Jesus died for all your lies, all you bigotry, all your fears, all your ignorance, and all the rest of your "sin", when He personally "became sin" FOR YOU on The Cross.
This is the reason there is no lake of fire waiting for anyone who is born again.
You might want to thank THE LORD JESUS THE CHRIST for this, if you have time.
(make time).
