I am looking at the UN as the revived Roman empire or as Revelation calls it: The head that was healed.

Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as though it had been smitten unto death; and his death-stroke was healed: and the whole earth wondered after the beast;


We can see some nations being indicated in the Beast ; the Bear, the Lion, the Leopard. We know that the Roman Empire of old, is no more, but that all the "players" of that empire is now together again in what we call "The United NATIONS" The very name says it all . All nations. The old Empire also controlled the whole known world at that time. Its a type and shadow for what we see today as the UN.

Many from the modern day view look to the 10 nations of the Western European Union as being the revived Roman Empire but I have no doubt you know this view already. Javier Solana aka Mr. Europe has authority under recommendation 666 that gives him as the High Representative and Secretary General of the WEU the authority to preside over the EU’s Political and Security Council in an emergency. This means the High Representative has “the authority to step in and take control of the EU’s new military machinery†in an emergency. His position aka his seat is more powerful then Nero had over the Armies of Rome. I am certainly watching to see who will replace him in the fall.

With respect to the UN's involvment in endtimes you may wish to keep an eye on the U.N.'s “Alliance of Civilizationsâ€Â. They want to show that the path to world peace will come through religious tolerance. Their state mission is to eliminate all “religious fundamentalism†and those who think that they have a sole lock on the truth. Unfortunately, as usual, the demand for “tolerance†results in intolerance of Christians. This elimination of all opposition is a natural first step toward the creation of a one-world religion that can be controlled from a central nexus. The “image that speaks†could be television or holograms or some other technology that Daniel couldn't explain in any better way.

There will be a final global empire that will arise from the remains of the Roman Empire.
Daniel chapters 2 and 7 reveal a strong connection between the formation of the European Union and end-times scripture. This began in 1950 when the Roman Empire began to show signs of being revived. In 1950 the European Coal and Steel Community was proposed as a means of achieving economic unification in Europe following the war. The hope was that this would strengthen economic trade in Europe. This unified effort led to the signing of the Treaty of Rome in 1957, which established the European Economic Community (EEC), and the European Atomic Energy Council. That treaty was taken a step further with the signing of the Brussels Treaty in 1965. The Brussels Treaty began the process of rebuilding the old Roman Empire through reunification of European states under one political system, one economic system, and eventually under the protection of one military force.

More states were added to this growing union in 1973, 1981, and 1986, making up the 10 permanent member states of today’s European Union. In 2002, the Euro was introduced as the first step toward a unified single currency in Europe. Upon adopting the Euro, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Guterres raved, “As Peter was the rock on which the church was built, so the Euro is the rock on which the European Union will be built.â€Â

The EU today is made up of over 25 countries, however the ten nations of the Western European Alliance have a separate status as full members, while those nations who joined subsequent to the original 10 have only associate membership, or observer status. This 10 nation military wing of the EU may very well fulfill the prophecy of the beast with 10 horns from Daniel 7:7-8 and Revelations 13:1. On this beast’s back will ride the woman that symbolizes a global religious system that is to appear before Christ returns to set up His kingdom.

In 1999, Javier Solana became the High Representative for the EU’s foreign and security policy, and through Recommendation 666, he was given emergency powers over the military wing of the EU in 2000. All that currently remains to create a truly revived Roman Empire is the creation of a permanent executive branch of government and the full integration of the new Euro currency. With the introduction of the new EU constitution, the groundwork is being laid for just such an executive branch and economic system.


There will be an alliance of ten “kings†that arise from this Roman Empire.
As you research this, you will see that it was a ten nation military alliance that arose from the ashes of the Roman Empire. These Western European Union nations are the backbone of the larger European Union that now consists of 26 member states.

24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. Dan 7:24 (KJV)

Daniel chapter 2 records that the ancient Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream concerning the Last Days. No Babylonian could interpret the dream; however, Daniel, a captive of Judah, was able to interpret Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Daniel 2:25-30), as God had already revealed the dream to him (Daniel 2:19-23).

Daniel recounted the dream to Nebuchadnezzar, and interpreted the king’s dream of a huge statue by explaining the 4 major components of the statue.

1. A head of Gold
2. Breast and arms of silver
3. Belly and thighs of bronze
4. Feet of iron and clay

Most Bible scholars interpret these 4 components to represent the 4 major empires that have existed in the world’s history. Daniel confirms that the first of these empires is Babylon, ruled by Nebuchadnezzar.

Daniel 2:37-38 “Thou, O king, art a king of kings; for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of Gold.â€Â

Daniel goes on to identify the second and third empires that will emerge following the Babylonian empire.

Daniel 2:39 “And after you will arise another kingdom inferior to you, and [then] another, a third kingdom, of copper, which will rule the whole earth.â€Â

History records the empires that followed Babylon were Medo-Persia and Greece. Daniel 5 tells us that Nebuchadnezzar’s successor, Belshazzar, was conquered by Persia. The second empire of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was established from modern-day Iran to Asia Minor (Turkey).

The third empire to arise (Daniel 2:39b) and rule the earth was Greece, whose reign began at the time of Alexander the Great. The fourth empire will be a revived model of this Roman Empire. Daniel did, after all, tell Nebuchadnezzar that his vision was about “what will be at the End of Days†(Daniel 2:28). The fourth empire is described as follows:

Daniel 2:40 “It will be strong, yet mixed. It will be a diverse empire (part of potters clay and part of iron, the kingdom will be divided), but will be strong (but there shall be in it of the strength of iron)

Prophecies elsewhere in the Bible also describe this fourth empire of the final days, and by studying these you see further indications that would point to the European Union as the final world empire that will be ruled by the antichrist before Messiah returns.

Personally I think we are going to see a World War soon now. After each WW the nations have done something:

After WW1 they formed the League of Nations : (It failed !)

It failed and again the nations formed an organization to protect them against war. The UN came into being (it has been failing as well and will fail big time soon, as we enter into the next WW )

This will bring us to the new "UN" that has been brewing on the table for sometime now. It will have real teeth this time. You can also look at this website, it shows that they have divided the world into ten Magma regions (ten horns)

According to Richard Falk and Andrew Strauss, whose article "Toward Global Parliament" appeared in Foreign Affairs in early 2001, an alliance between reformist governments and NGOs such as this could give rise to a treaty instituting a World Parliament. It could begin to exist after being ratified by a minimum number of states. I think 50% of the UN members and world population would be sufficient. As Falk and Strauss wrote, "Once the assembly became operational, the task of gaining additional state members would likely become easier. A concrete organization would then exist that citizens could urge their governments to join. As more states joined, pressure would grow on nonmember states to participate".


In concluding, I think the World Parliament will encourage the formation of true world political parties, which will likely develop positive relations with the civil society movements. Secondly, in order to democratize globalization, a global Parliament is not enough. No parliament can govern a country alone. An executive body is necessary. So the World Parliament must be seen as a crucial milestone on the way toward forming a democratic government endowed with the necessary powers to enforce the laws passed by the World Parliament

In this constitution the Presidium and the Executive Cabinet would be totally responsible to the people through the World Parliament (Article VI, Section E, 5). The World Executive Branch would be bound to faithfully execute all legislation passed by the World Parliament (Article VI, Section F, 5). The North American Union, the African Union, the South American Union, the South Asian Union, the Pacific Union, the Central Asian Union, the Arab Gulf States Union, the Caribbean Union and others are all looking at either starting or making major advancements during 2010. That is also the midpoint of the seven year ENP agreement, which is itself a confirmation of the 1995 Barcelona Declaration. In fact, it's likely that this process will result in splitting the entire globe up into 10 distinct regions

Most of these unions are formed already there are just a few to go. I have done a few posts in various other sites about this suggesting these could in fact be the ten horns instead of the WEU.

The response I had back about this was many people asking how is it these unions relate to the E.U. aka the Revised Roman Empire. Are these nations/horns not supposed to arise out of the Revised Roman Empire?

That is correct. We must remember that Jesus will first appear IN His people during this time, before He comes on the clouds. His "Body" is called His body, because that is where we will first see him. If this is strange to anybody, then you can read the "White Horse Rider " thread.

Jesus spoke of this first return in John 16. You will see He told the story of Revelation 12 to the disciples when they asked when they will SEE Him again.

I mentioned that the court is still out on exactly how. If we just look at what is happening now , we can really see that there is an army of groups , basically doing the same thing. I personally think that they will join their efforts in the end, because they all want the same thing. The Unions could perhaps be seen as the foundation work ? There are real factors that the Unions do not deal with, but other groups are dealing with it. So I see a coming together.


We can see in Revelation that there is a progression, ........

Rev 12:3 And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems.

Notice that the diadems or crowns are on the seven heads. These seven heads are the leadership of seven world-ruling empires whose seed populate and rule the earth: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, and Revived Rome, (the head that was smitten and revived.) This representative form of government is how the U.N. functions now.This first stage will last for 3-1/2 years.

(Rev.12:6) And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (14) And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. Then in the middle of the Tribulation the final stage is the fully implemented Beast government. (13:1) And he stood upon the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads, and on his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy. Here we see that the crowns are upon the leadership of the ten continental divisions.This is their plan to destroy national, religious and ethnic divisions in the earth for the sake of peace.

A war with Israel will soon escalate into a WWar. I think it will be brief but decisive.(I am speculation here !) I think that it will be brief, because it will kickstart the UN or whatever they will call this new World Government. It will be short, because we will be in "peace" when this system rules. They also only start persecuting Christian after the finish of the first three and a half years. The time when the diadems move onto the ten horns.

Peace will be taken away from the earth Rev 6:4 And another horse came forth, a red horse: and to him that sat thereon it was given to take peace from the earth, and that they should slay one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. When peace is removed, it will really be gone in all the earth.This horse is a judgment and as such it will have a huge impact on how everybody live at that time.

So you tell me WHO is ruling?

Answer: The head that was healed ! The revived Roman Empire as a group, not just one man. THEY make the decisions and he must carry them out with no real power on his part !
