How a Device Ford Patented in 1999 Is Saving V8s

It's called the Charge Motion Control Valve, and it's one of the reasons you can still get a 5.0.

I know what that crap is.yeah my ranger a 2.3 had those.My daughters v8 hemisphere has them.fun when those butterflies break.a coworker yanked his .They don't do much for gas mileage. I had the check engine light come on for this.I thought that was a long runner short runner deal as it causes a venturi effect .more power at low end .it doesn't. When the valve actuator failed as they are vaccum operated .I noticed a tiny hesitate at wot.

I know they may have their uses, but for the most part butterfly valves are horrible.
