It's doubtful The Vineyard was included in any of that. In the early 80's, they were just getting started. Today, I believe they number somewhere around 2, 000 congregations, and still aren't included on many lists.
Real Christians worry people, Willie, especially those that are wondering about this mystical walk with the Christ at our sides. And mystical is exactly what they believe it is and they will hear nothing different.

I recall the beginning of this invasion in the nineties, just after I was saved and it floored me then that people would profess Jesus and then fall, blinded by Satan, into this mess. This is the best action evidence I have ever seen of the Barna Survey being worthy of consideration. I saw this some years ago and I was aware of and exposed to the movement at a Promise Keepers Convention.

I heard of a church in my area that had people rolling in the aisles and drooling from the mouth.
I was afraid to go there.
I told my pastor and he laughed and said he'd go just to see it.
So I did and became a member and stayed there 11 years until I moved away.
Best church I've ever been in.

Its a very powerful movement of deception, we all need to be watchful and heed these words of Jesus..

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

All I had to see was the theatrical presentation of all the flames all over the introduction page, and I knew the kind of sad exposé this would be. Some people are so pitifully disappointing.
Actually, this is one time I agree with ToB. Sure, the site is cheesy; they obviously don't put a lot of money into it. But Andrew Strom is a solid guy, as far as I can tell. He used to be in those circles, as a prophet, until God opened his eyes to what was really going on, much like he did mine. He isn't just some guy out to get anyone. He knows what he is talking about.

There is such a lack of discernment among many of the various Charismatics and Pentecostals that it's scary. There is an assumption that anything "spiritual" that happens in church is from God. Just look at his video on Bethel Church and see how they're bringing in New Age teachings. I saw this with Todd Bentley, back in the day.

I will speak to the AofG .. Assemblies of God... i grew up in that 'group'
The AofG has brought us folks like :hips Swaggart Bakker... Crouch.. Hinn how long a list will ya read?
The AofG has also brought us folks like my Dad ... The big named jerks stand out we all know them... I know there are others out there like my dad... we just dont hear of them... There is good bad and everything in between in any group ... The guy setting on the pew may be there because God asked him to stay... asked him to be My salt here ...
I am not of the same beliefs i was 55 years ago.. we are to grow in Him a walk is not stagnant ..
Luk_9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

I'm told this is a Christian church.
I've met some of them and they seem nice.
The ones I met from Oregon were charismatic and full of excitement for Jesus.
The ones I met from Florida were knowledgeable and joyous.
But are they christian?
I think so.
As a whole it seems that their basic doctrine is sound, so there is no reason to think they are not Christian. But as with all charismatic type denominations, there is always the danger of drifting too far when experience is emphasized. Of course, there is always danger when experience is so de-emphasized.

I look at it this way... If someone is trying to convince me of something about ANY organization........ And they have to use those kinds of theatrical allurements that, since I am a member of that specific group, I know they do not use....... Then they have lost their credibility with me before they even begin.

I don't understand what you're saying. What "theatrical allurements"?

Then you saw exactly what I am talking about. I am not an idiot that has to be led like that by suggestion.
If you want me to know something, just present the subject, don't play Hollywood games like that.
The exaggerated intro was the plain reason I just clicked off the site.

What? I'm not playing games. Boy, you sure haven't changed.

And of course you let some cheesy graphics get in the way of the message.
