Bible Study There are 80 books in the King James Bible

Personally, I favor the KJV

The Old Testament is the original Hebrew Bible, the sacred scriptures of the Jewish faith, written at different times between about 1200 and 165 BC. The New Testament books were written by Christians in the first century AD.

Scholars in the first half of the 20th century came to the conclusion that the Yahwist was produced in the monarchic period, specifically at the court of Solomon, 10th century BC, and the Priestly work in the middle of the 5th century BC (the author was even identified as Ezra), but more recent thinking is that the Yahwist was written either just before or during the Babylonian exile of the 6th century BC, and the Priestly final edition was made late in the Exilic period or soon after

There are 80 books in the King James Bible; 39 in the Old Testament, 14 in the Apocrypha, and 27 in the New Testament.

The books in the KJV were written by different people at different times.
The books are not intended to follow a chronological order. You get out of each Book what there is independently from the rest.

At least that is my view of things.
How about you-?

Sometimes it makes more sense to read the Bible without using Chapter, verse and punctuation as many times each chapter flows into the next.

Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles are each one book.
Look it up in your Jewish Bible.
Christians divided up those books.

No. The apocrypha are not part of the Word of God.

I never have read the apocryphal books. Do they help you in your walk?

That is a pretty subjective question. As soon as i say no they don't help. Someone will come and post how they helped them in their walk. And what can you say?

The point to be made here is that they are not the inspired Word of God. A commentary on the Bible can help me in my walk with God. But it doesn't make it the inspired Word of God.

No more or no less than the book of Revelation or the book of Daniel help you in your walk.
I would have to say that they help in as much as they agree with inspired works of the Apostles, and they hurt our walk as much as they disagree with those same works.

If there is any disagreement between the two, then the Apostles works must prevail.

As for those that precede Jesus, they were not considered Scripture by the Jews in Jesus’ day, so they cannot be considered Scripture today.

Revelation and Daniel are very helpful in our daily walk. They both give us a picture of the reward for our perseverance in this life, and a picture of the threat we avoid by remaining “in Christ”.

Do you have any insights, teachings, blogs, etc related to either of these books? And if so would you mind linking to them?

Thanks

I'm afraid my insights may be a little bit different than most are used to. You see, I rejected the spirit of Jezebel. I don't study these books with the intent of learning about Satan or his kingdoms like many do as I am not captivated by Satan. Jesus said Lo, I come, in the pages of the book it is written of me. As the book of Revelation is the revelation of Jesus Christ, it is he I seek to learn of when I read the pages of the book. But to answer your question, yes I do have some writings related to both of these books, see the link below.
