Three Move Checkmate: 666

UPDATE!

hi folks,

I was reading a lesbian newsletter that published an article about the gay cowboy movie, "Brokeback Mountain." In it the beast showed himself. I'll quote the last part of the article.

Writer McMurtry is best known for his Pulitzer-prize-winning "Lonesom Dove" series; producer/writer Ossana [notice that his name is only one letter off from Osama, lol] also worked on other projects with McMurtry including "Johnson County War" and "Streets of Laredo." "Brokeback Mountain" has earned an estimated $66.6 million gross. Source: imdb.com.

Coincidence? 66.6 Million? and then the word, "gross!" Because homosexuality, if anything, is gross! And surely, it comes straight from the pit of hell, from satan, from the beast.

Another interesting story: A friend of mine recently went to a rap concert. The singer of the band suddenly shouted: "Lets get SATANIC!!" The crowd roared. Then the singer started to rap insults about the Catholic Church and the BODY AND BLOOD!!!! No joke! Do you see any connection here? Could it be possible, just maybe, that the same spirit responsible for such things as homosexuality is also influencing people to hate the Catholic Church, or rebel from it??

thanks for listening and God Bless

In summary, the fact that the Protestants have walked away from the teaching of the real Body and real Blood, is no small thing to God. "Oh well, they lost my Body and Blood, no big deal." NO!!! To God it is a very big deal! It is a huge blow to the church in general, the loss and theft of one of the greatest, if not THE greatest gift Christ gave to the church besides the HOLY SPIRIT. In fact, God wants us to know that the disciples who rebelled against this teaching were not using good sense, but were actually being influenced by the spirit of Antichrist, the Beast, 666.

Read John 6 in context, I'd say the Spiritual view is the best expresion of the doctrine of Christ's presence, here's a quick overview:

JM,

Let me start by saying why do we have to choose one option. God is a bit broader than that. The Catholic view actually encompasses at least in principal, though perhaps not in detail, all the protestant views. Most definitely from a Catholic perspective the spirit of God is not separated from the flesh and so there is a spiritual component. There is also a symbolic component in the water and the wine, representing the grains of wheat or the grapes being crushed as we are crushed in life to overcome our sins and be molded in to one unified body of believers. Protestants primarily come in to conflict with Catholic doctrine on the Eucharist in what they deny, more so than what they believe.

Now tell me how can "my flesh is true food, my blood is true drink" and "unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you shall not have life within you" and "the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world" get understood as talking about spiritual prescence to me? Sounds like a real prescence.

It is interesting in your article that they speak of the Lutherans talking of "physicality". Actually the Catholic teaching does not speak of physicallity but of a sacramental prescence of Christ's flesh. You will not find anywhere in Catholic documentation and councils that Christ is "physically present" in the Eucharist but it is a "real prescence" and a sacramental one. Also the article makes a mistake in not recognizing the spiritual prescence is a part of transubstantiation.

Blessings
