Top Ten List of the Week - World's Deadliest Animals

Meanwhile, whilst waiting for Steve to call on his lunch hour...

hmmmm, things that don't immediately come to mind.

I don't know the name of it, but there is a type of tree frog in South America that is very poisonous. I believe it is blue. I watched a whodunit type of detective show and they used the poison from the frog to do their dastardly deed.

So, Mike, will you accept a poisonous frog?

Back from school and was gonna guess but somebody woke up and took all my answers. I won't mention her name but her initials are HANDY!
The question is vague somewhat (making it difficult is good) but deadly to whom comes to mind? Of course we think in terms of deadliest animals in relation to humans but I'm trying to think in terms of the greatest predator (most prolific) in the animal kindgom.

Not that it's helping.... What kills the most flies, for instance. Frogs. But there again, Handy --> Grrrrr... and by that I mean, "Hi, nice to see you!"

handy:

Wow, so you guys even have a continuing supply of rats for the snake...

So what happens when the snake eventually dies? snakeskin stuff is quite fashionable, too, as well as African jewelry.

Yeah, when my hubby and I were still dating, he was busy getting ready for a trip to Arizona. He had two live rats out in his truck in order to feed the snakes he had at the time, boas, male and female, and I came in carrying the rats by their tails and said something to the effect of "if you open the cage, I can throw these in"....
He says that's when he knew I was the girl for him. :lol

I don't know what Steve will want to do with Issa's skin once Issa is done with it. Snakes live for a long time, and Issa should be around for a good 20 years yet.

Mike, my next guess is locusts. Given the famines they've perpetrated by crop degradation, they should be considered pretty deadly.

Sparrowhawke, I'm aiming for #1 this week, I don't think I've guessed the #1 option yet!

Using borrowed logic, but will still take full credit if I'm right:

Great Blue Whale.

Hmmmm:

  1. 10 Points: Still Available
  2. --9 points: Cape Buffalo - Handy (She literally guessed "Cape Buffalo"!! Really?!!)
  3. --8 points: Polar Bear - Sparrowhawke
  4. --7 points: Elephant - reba
  5. --6 points: (6+8=14)(Australian Saltwater) Crocodile - Sparrowhawke
  6. --5 points: (14+5=19)African Lion - Sparrowhawke
  7. --4 points: (19+4=23)Great White Shark - Sparrowhawke
  8. --3 points: (23+3=26)(Australian Box) Jellyfish - Sparrowhawke
  9. --2 points: (26+2=28) (Asian) Cobra - Sparrowhawke
  10. --1 point: (9+1=10) Mosquito - Handy

Sorry to break it to ya, but we've switched positions from last week. I think fleas or rats or mosquitoes or frogs should be the number one answer (and that it should go to you) but the early bird got the worm. Hmmmm... worms? no.

Birds? Avian flu? No.... I'm outta guesses. (also I got a ton of homework now -- love to stay and play but...)

Maybe a parasite? Good luck to you.

Just did a google search for parasite and cancer -- here then is my guess: fasciolopsis buskii

All cancers are alike and all are caused by a single parasite (fasciolopsis buskii), the same parasite that also causes HIV and AIDS. If you kill the parasite, the cancer stops immediately and the tissues return to normal. You must have this parasite in order to get cancer or AIDS.
Here's the link: lightparty.com/Health/PARASITE.html (( is that cheating? )) hope not

We are being taught to think horizontally (I'm reminded of the series "House" on TV) and to use the internet to quickly search multiple complex thoughts (in this case parasites and cancer)

Current task list:
  • Develop Random Sample Survey (5 Questions) to show Ethnocentrism
  • Write Essay with Topic: Plato's Cave and Art
  • Solve Math Problems relating to Graphing Inequalities in One Variable
  • Guess: World's Deadliest Animal
  • Household chores

:chin You can see my priorities -- I'm here. Should be focused elsewhere

Sorry, I had to run out for a while. I should have had Nacho take over for me! Nacho, was this the list you used???

Great job, Handy, reba and Sparrow!! Here's the link: Top 10 Deadliest Animals | LiveScience

And broken up in case it doesn't work:

Omigosh! #1 was actually the Frog!?! :lol

Seriously, I was just pulling at straws with that guess, and I would never had guessed it if it hadn't had been for that detective show I watched.

Wow, I finally pulled the #1 spot! :clap3

handy:

Is this Taiwan? or maybe Taipan is someplace else.

Snakes leave me...anxious... :)

Nope, it's Taipan...Taipan being a genus of snakes, all highly venomous. The Inland Taipan is considered the most venomous snake in the world. Oh, correction to that, the most venomous land dwelling snake in the world. The most venomous snake in the world lives in the water, but I can't remember it's name. I do know that it's supposedly very timid and non-aggressive, and since it's a water snake, I figured that it wouldn't top the list.

This was a fun list to figure out Mike (and Theo!).

handy:

Oh okay, you seem to know a lot about snakes, anyway.

Ty.

Maybe you guys up in Idaho have lots of snakes....... :chin

We have a certain amount of snakes around here, mainly rattlesnakes, bull snakes and the very pretty Smooth Green Snake.

But, mainly I have gotten to know far more about snakes than I ever would from living with my hubby. He likes the critters!

Snakes leave me...anxious... :)

I'll take it a step further, farouk. I came face to face with a rattle snake while golfing here in Michigan once, and I had two options to choose from. Either stand there and start to cry, or turn and run. I just ran and ran, screaming and flailing my arms. A better man would have backed away slowly, stood still and let him go, or even take a whack with the golf club. Not this guy. They say not to turn your back and invite chase? I don't care. I'm just gonna run!

Even the ones that don't rattle make me very unhappy. Not a fan of snakes.

Yeah, Dora, Theo had a good one here!:thumbsup I didn't think mosquito would fall so easliy, or a frog, or a buffalo I've never heard of! Good going!!

Congratulations!
I would still rather be in a room full of frogs than grizzly bears. :lol

I'm not sure exactly how this works or if I'm too late or not, but....
