True or false.

Tried to set up a vote thingy but couldn't figure it out.

So here is the question I wanted to ask and allow the jury to vote.

Unless we can accept who we are and where we are at then we can't move forward with God.

True of false?

On the flip side.

If we can accept who we are and where we are at we can move forward with God?

False.
We have no control over nothing.
Just ask the Apostle Paul.

I say True.

John 3:20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

1 John 1:8-10 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Those who love darkness, do not want to move forward with God. Those who want to be in his light, will acknowledge any darkness that is within us and confess it (accepting who we are and where we are at)

Wrg,

I'd like you to define your terminology. What do you mean by:
  • 'who we are', and
  • 'move forward with God'?
Are you a self-esteem advocate? Is that what you mean by accepting 'who we are'?

Is there really any other choice? Denying reality doesn't usually pay big dividends. Delusions pay even less. I've often prayed to God in Christ that IF He wants me to be different, then make it so. And I've gotten some surprising answers to those prayers that I didn't expect, that did change me.

Don't step on my blue suede shoes

Did Elvis wear them?

hello Rollo Tamasi, dirtfarmer here

No, I am the only one that wore them and I am not famous.

Don't want to get my legs striped with a "hichory" ( a small branch from a tree). Must get back to subject to avoid discipline with a hichory.

We as believers have choices to make, which means that we control that which is in God's permissive will, but we don't control the consequences( outcome) God reserves that for himself.

Then why would I want to trade something for them?
Did you perform some kind of miracle that you can attribute to wearing the shoes or something like that?

Maybe you had them blessed by Oral Roberts at a camp meeting or something?
Do you remember?

I did walk thru a small mud puddle with them and didn't drown. When you attain a certain age there are two things that you forget, which is the second, but I can't remember the first.

True.
Confession would be a good beginning place. But if you can't even admit the truth about where you're at and who you are you'll hardly be seeking to move forward in Christ.
