Is this contridicting?

Why do we read the bible and live by it if it was writting by man?

If the bible contridicts itslef what makes the rest creditable?

If you poured 2 drops of Cyanide in a coke would you still drink it?

Please let me know your thoughts.

men were moved by the lord to write the bible.

but that takes faith to see that.

are you a believer. saved. believe the bible to inspired of God?

Christians believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God. Written by men, under the intervention of the Holy Spirit.

exactly right. If the bible was written by a handful of fishermen and some wandering prophets, it would be suspect. It is the WORD OF GOD....not the word of man. Breathed, inspired, told by the Holy Spirit....these men simply transcribed.

Call them Holy Ghost writers

And of the bible stores that can be proven to be non-literal?

There have been contraditions found in the bible that it must be concluded that men wrote the words, . . . perhaps "inspired" by who they believed their god to be, but only "inspired" as a painter would be in a mountain that he/she would paint. But that painting is not a true image of the mountain.

Right...and these men simply transcribed the various versions of the resurrection event.
Or maybe these men simply transcribed Gods demand for sacrifices and then wrote that God did not demand these sacrifices? Let me know if you need quotes.

A painting of a mountain.....oh you knew it was a mountain.....how did you know that.....

And the contradictions you THINK you see are merely places where your understanding fails.

If you take (or paint if you like) a picture of a mountain from it's north side, then again from the south, they would not be identical....they are from different perspectives

Matthew to the jew
Mark to the Roman
Luke to the Greek
John to the Christian

Ok, so the variance of accounts is caused by the various men who wrote it having varying perceptions - so did the Holy Spirit see things differently? if its a divinely inspired true account, then we can accept that the accounts would vary. But if its THE WORD OF GOD - there should be only one perspective told - the true perspective - why would The Holy Spirit want to give varrying accounts if there was, in the end, only one true account?

no because he used personalities and he didnt always dictate the bible to men.

they had minds and also situations to work with.

do witnesses agree to the t in court when they see a crime? not all some of the descriptions will be almost the same and yet that does hold up in a court of law.

varying perceptions

Where did I say varying perceptions.....

THE Audience written to determined the PERSPECTIVE

Matthew is heavily accented for the Jews
Luke to the intellectual Greek
John to the Christian perspective
and mark to the visceral romans

It is only wisdom to write to your audience...that is WHY we have four gospels...and not one.

And the contradictions you THINK you see are merely places where your understanding fails.

The mountain is only a shadow of what the actual mountain would be.

And the places where YOU think is clear are merely places where you have been taught to believe. What is clear is that there are bible stories that were stated as real events, but they never were. That isn't "a failing of understanding". It is a matter of evidence [or lack thereof].
