How bad is your tuition? Please try to watch your mouth while on this topic. What ideas do you have to lower tuition?

Tuition at my college was $30,000. Extremely expensive. Personally, my combination of scholarships/government loans/need-based grants covered not only my tuitition, but all my college expenses. I loved my school, had a wonderful college experience and received top notch education, but I don't think I would have attended had I been paying the whole tuition.

As far as making the tuition more affordable, I don't know how much you can do. The government loans and grants are generally based on your family's income. If your familiy is upper middle class, you probably won't get much. As far as scholarships, I recommend everyone take high school seriously. I know far too many people that were capable of A's, but would rather have fun and got Bs and Cs instead. This doesn't look good when applying for scholarships. There are some scholarship books they sell at bookstores that give information for all sorts of scholarships---some are only academic based, but many are for minorities, such as women, a certain racial group, a certain ancestry, a certain religion, a certain church, first in family in college, family of a veteren, certain hobby, etc, etc. Do some research, and send applications to everyone you can, and you have a good shot at getting some money.

I applied for scholarships and grants. I got 2 grants. North Carolina Community College grant and also the Federal Pell grant. They both cover all my tuition and books.
