[__ Prayer __] Two prayer requests

Hey guys, thanks for your prayers and your support! I'd love to show pictures. Unfortunately yesterday something insane happened. A lightning struck in my house and killed my computer and my modem. Gotta find out whether my insurance covers lightning strikes, else I'll be in trouble affording a new computer. Maybe I'll borrow the church office laptop tonight, since it's summer vacation time and there's noone using it anyway. But uploading photos may take a while. You guys should see what the lightning has done. It ripped wall papers off of the wall, exploded lamps and sent light switches flying across rooms. Kinda glad I only lost a few electrical devices. I mean, the house could have burnt down. :lol

Whoa!
I was in a Walmart last week when lightning struck the building. It was scary!
I'm glad you're ok.

This makes me think you'd gripe about the earthquake that just occurred in China. Come to think about it, I wonder if they're covered with earthquake insurance? :shrug

Maybe that was a spiritual attack sister. You are seeking, and there are a lot of people praying for you, including myself. Fear not sister, the Lord is with you and will provide whatever you need.

I hope He's gonna provide me with a new computer soon. :lol
Ya maybe it was a spiritual attack but if so it wasn't an attack on me personally. There are roughly two docen people living in that house and some of them took more damage. One guy lost his high tech multi media TV that's probably worth a lot more than my 6 year old computer, and he's as broke as I am and can't afford a new one easily - except he'd spend the money he'd saved for a vacation trip to Iceland that he's been dreaming of for a long time. Hope his insurance will pay. One girl living on the other end of my floor almost got hit by a heavy glass lamp that fell off the ceiling. That might have ended lot worse than a broken TV or computer. So thinking this was an attack on me seems crazy self-centered. I wasn't even home when it happened.
I'd rather think it was a combination of insane weather, the hill top location of the house and a malfunctioning lightning arrester. Now it's up to me whether it'll turn out to be a curse or a blessing. I pray God will bless my efforts to handle the situation. Maybe I should organise a lightning strike party for all of us house residents in our backyard this weekend. We could make a lot of jokes about it I guess. And get to know each other better. That'd be a blessing. And could use the time I win by not having a computer at my hands for something usefull. Bass guitar practice, painting, cleaning up the remaining vacation stuff, and so on.

When I arrived home a few minutes ago I met the guy who's TV got roasted and we talked about the lightning incident. Seems his ex wife screwed him over with the insurance and he's gonna have to pay it all by himself. :-( Also he found out none of the buildings in our street (all run by the same landlord company) have lightning arresters. :eek2 I thought they were kinda obligatory?! This house is a death trap :lol Next time we have a storm I'll be hiding in a basement.
So while I was talking to my neighbour a guy from our cable TV and internet provider company showed up in order to repair or replace another neighbour's modem. He agreed to do the same with mine (which also got destroyed). The modems we use are proberty of the provider company, so i'd had to call them anyway. That guy showing up at the right time saved me a phonecall. :) He also educated us a big deal about the physics of lightning strikes. When I finally made it to my appartment my phone rang. The leader of my church's sound tech team called me to ask me if I'm okay with some new schedule they made. While we were talking I also told him of the lightning story and jokingly asked him whether he happens to have some laptop sitting around somewhere that he could sell or temporarily borrow to me. Turns out he actually has. :lol So by the end of the week I'll be back online.
The third item the lightning killed was a printer that belongs to my boss (yeah that guy), he couldn't get it to work with his Windows 8 so he gave it to me and I have to do all the company's and some of boss's private printing. :lol Well I mailed him the news of his printer being dead. Just while I was typing this post my boss called me and he wasn't mad, but a mix of worried and amused about me being hit by a lightning. :D So that lightning gave me 10 min on the phone with a friend who I'm in love with and haven't seen in two weeks, and it may also give me a new and better computer than the one that I used to have. :D If that was a spiritual attack I want to get attacked more often.

no surge protectors aren't code in florida, we are the lighting capital of the world, I think. I know that at camp blanding they used to test lighting there. a surge protector costs 10 dollars a month from fpl, the city I work for does have them on some homes but as far as I know I don't think we ever sold them. lighting rods do wonders as well. though not code for homes here but business yes they have to have them

You guys, would you please pray fo my mental stability? I've had a number of real dark days (at work). I feel worthless, useless, and hopeless. I've been contemplating suicide oftwn lately. I do want to live but I don't want to be in so much pain any more.
This afternoon I met an ex bf of mine, we had a coffee together and talked about what's going on in our lives. He's going through a very sad separation from his girlfriend. So our conversation was a bit depressing I guess. But at some point I made a joke about my emotional age being no older than eight and for some reason that remark I made made him laugh loudly for half a minute. Not in a mean way, but in a warm understanding way. Making him laugh really made me happy for a few minutes.

Claudya, It takes more courage than many of us have to just be you. I hope you realize the inspiration you are to others.

Claudya, you are a very special person. I'll be praying you have mental and emotional peace.

Dear Sister Claudya, I remain in prayer for you that you will come to know the peace you seek. Blessings in Christ Jesus.

Thanks for all the prayers!

Just to bring a few updates on some of the requests:
I feel healthy enough for training on monday. I'd love to go running today (my body wants to be pushed and the weather is wonderful) but I have too little time... maybe tomorrow.
Mentally yesterday was an awesome day.
On thursday (day before yesterday) my boss came to visit us at work (he's on vacation break this month) and we had like half an hour to talk in private (sitting in the chicken compound, it's my favourite retreat place at work :lol) about some things work-related and some things personal. It was great to see him and we could solve a few misunderstandings. At this point I feel like we're in a good place to build a friendship. Today he's going on a vacation trip to south eastern Europe (the former Yugoslavian area) by himself. I pray he'll have a lot of fun and return safely in one piece. Sure gonna miss him.

My modem has been replaced by the ISP company and I "borrowed" the laptop from my church (everyone that might be needing it these days is on vacation except me so I figured noone will mind if I take it home for a few days and do my church work from here). Still need a new computer of my own though and there'll be some fighting with my insurance I fear....

That's good sister, glad to hear it. I'd say hey let's all pitch in together and buy Claudya a new computer, but the last time I did something similar, I got shut down for spamming or something. I'm still praying for you sister, and hope the desires of your heart all come to you.

Be patient and humble sister, you're in good hands with the Lord. :)

Hi Claudya

You're amazing; the way you carry on with God's work in spite of your own difficulties. You come across as a very caring and understanding person in your posts.

If you don't mind me asking: are you getting any professional help with your issues? i think I remember you saying in a different place that you have Borderline Personality Disorder. I have heard that this responds well to counselling - if you get the right counsellor! It must be a very difficult thing to live with.

Prayers continue for you.
