Verna's son, david, is on his way out of a marriage to a lady...Tyler is her teenage son. I think he's in jail right now. He's all of 16 years old. In the south, poor teenagers who get in legal trouble often end up in adult jails, and that's just...how southern society is doing things these days. ugh.
It just breaks my heart. I've been in jail. It was hell on earth. Plus...they basically reinforce antisocial behavior in jail. I imagine/assume its worse in prison...thankfully, I was spared prison.
This teenager is well on his way to a life of poverty and misery, and that's...American culture in action, basically. "no such thing as 2nd chances," not for poor people, anwyay.
