Untidy women

LOLHow many women do you know that really do that? Because I don't know many of that kind. You may have fallen for a steretype here. (Or maybe American women do that? ):dunno
Im a youth - and we talk about our homes. Church stuff and family issues are always openly discussed.

All the talk about women's hips sounds really sexist, it's like the kind of jokes 60 year old chauvinists make. :grumpy
But you seem to be young, so it's forgivable. You might grow out of it.

If I had things my way we could clean the house with an air hose!

I am pretty sure she would say I am 90% of the problem, I am also pretty sure I wouldn't say she was wrong...;)

Well. I have witnessed it severally when our church members washed the entire church floor. Only few men could compete with them. A woman can bend in her chores for hours washing. A man can't survive long. I remember our Dora saying in one of her posts: (I peraphrase): a man vs a woman in a fight, while the strenght of a man lies in the shoulders that of a woman lies in the waist/hip. Can't remember exactly how she put it. ****************************************So why can't a woman with such natural powers not bend down and work and tidy up her own place???

Claudya hit the nail on the head with a good couple of points below
For some women and men the tidiness issue is a serious mental problem, it can be related to depression and learned helplessness.

So when you see someone (regardless of gender) have a permanent chaos in their place it might mean their soul is in a mess, too. They could probably need help with cleaning up their souls rather than their houses. :sad
Go Go, Thayanee! :chair
hmmmm....looks like i'm going to be out numbered yet again...sigh...

I will say that clutter doesn't necessarily mean unclean.

The50/50 partnership works well in our household. I more often than not do the dishes while Thayanee is ironing or has spent a long time preparing a meal. Things like washing laundry, mopping the floors etc are shared. Have to agree with Claudya and Reba that the other comment about hip placement etc were a wee bit sexist although quite humorous :D

sexist as used by her really got me thinking. I was completely confused until I had to consult the elderly ones. I was thinking what it's got to do with the OP...(a responce to #17)

Claudya:

In any case, what about the typical look for many young ladies that may involve spiky hair and skinny jeans. It's kind of relaxed and fashionable and they want to look that way.

Aye, I wouldn't want to live in a surgery-like antiseptic household. It's gotta look like someone is actually living there.
Clutter is fine. A comfortable place needs clutter.

:lol Yeah it made me giggle, too. But it's still sexism!
Classik, please come to the blackboard and write 100 times: "Noone can be forced or coerced to do household work only because on their hip joint placement!"

Noooooo. God gave women such wonderful joints that can do a lot of stuff - domestic. What do you know about female lions in a hunt?

Male laziness? Or lack of practice? Or maybe some men out there still fear that their manliness will fall off when they do "woman's work". :gah
However, it's not the women's hips that are strained by that work, but their backs, shoulders and knees.

uh... sure, why not. Poeple may wear whatever suits their taste.
But how is that related to tidiness or their hips?

Oftentimes the females hunt most of a pride's (bride? bright? er, group of lions, dunno spelling) prey while the males watch the cubs (cups? cat baby, dunno spelling either) but the males are awesome predators, too. Some lions live as loners (both sexes), so both sexes have what it takes to be good hunters.
So what does lion hunting behaviour have to do with human housekeeping behaviour?
