The net was not designed for privacy. It was designed for survivability in case of foreign attack. The designers wanted people to know who sent them an email, so important messages could be verified.

What IS video chatting??

I don't even keep my Skype camera on my screen.
A tech wiz, as you called it, can tune in to it and see your home. They can do things we can't even think of.

I have a piece of black tape over my webcam as I read something a while back about how the Government and hackers can see everything you do in your home even if your webcam is off. This has become more so since 911 here in America.

I only ever videoed chatted one time with a friend of mine in Africa, but his English was so broken with his dialect I couldn't understand him very well so we just kept it to messaging each other. Video chatting on my phone uses up to much data so I don't use it.
