Viruses and antiviruses

Whats the official opinion of microsoft security essentials?

Ive been using it for quite awhile now with no complications thus far but have always wondered how it stacks up to the gurus.

I'll give my personal opinion as opposed to the official one. But all I can say is, "High time Microsloth came out with their own virus protection." All I can say is if one is going to peddle their viral prone OS for over twenty years, and then have the gall to charge people for it, the least they can do is make a virus protection program for free to solve their PC issues.

I have a simpler solution --- they should make an OS that does not get viruses so easily like Mac or Linux, but I'm starting to think they don't want to --- the virus writers just use the same "windows" into your computer that Microsoft and the government love to use to see what's going on behind the scenes with one's computer. But that's another conspiracy theory for another time.

Did you read my mind? :thumbsup

MSE is the best anti-virus out there today IMO. It even does way better at virus protection than paid services (McAfee, Trend Micro, Symantec, etc) and doesn't annoy you.

But let's all be honest, all AV software stinks. 9/10 times when one of my clients gets a virus, it takes an app like Malwarebytes to really do the job.
