Perhaps this is what Paul meant when he penned, "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."IOW,, If someone THINKS they're saved....they will not seek salvation.
I'm not sure.Perhaps this is what Paul meant when he penned, "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
I posted a link Ezra.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT
My thought is that what you describe is "working out our salvation with fear and trembling." I think the important part is "working out our salvation" is not the same as "working for our salvation." To work out our salvation is to live according to the gift of grace we have received.I'm not sure.
The above verse is Philippians 2:12
Paul is telling them to be obedient to God even while he is away...
in the same way as they were when he was present with them.
What I'm saying is that if something THINKS they're saved because they walked down an isle in a church and then do nothing further to belong to the Kingdom of God...are they saved?
I don't think so...but they THINK they are because of these modern teachings that say we "accept" Jesus and are saved.
I do believe that in order to be saved our life should reflect it as much as possible and we should be disciples of Jesus and desire to follow His way...even though we will fail at times, but at least the desire is there.
Do you still think it's the same idea?
Oh.My thought is that what you describe is "working out our salvation with fear and trembling." I think the important part is "working out our salvation" is not the same as "working for our salvation." To work out our salvation is to live according to the gift of grace we have received.
how about this he paid a debt he did not owe /he took my place he redeemed my by his bloodI posted a link Ezra.
You MUST know there's more than one theory of Atonement!
