This isn't a discussion about what music you like per say...rather how it can be used...

Sometimes when I feel sick or oppressed, I listen to good Christian Rock Music and the sickness or oppression leaves me. Strange but true ! :yes

Nope. It would be useless to control people through music, because it wouldn't be economical and back masking and subliminal messaging has been proven to not work over and over again.

Most of the ideas/ symbolism that is claimed to be used in music are really vague and take alot of sugestion and someone actually having to tell you where to find it to find it. Sounds like a really wasteful way to get your message across.

Well....you could just as well ask...Is advertising used to control you.

And the answer is obviously yes.

Is media used to control you? Is it used to "help" you form your opinions? Of course.

Movies, TV shows, Newspapers, Music, Video Games are all used to prod you in the right [wrong] direction.

When was the last time you saw a Christian movie hero?

Music as in sound or lyrics?

Music as in sound, yes. It can be used to control people, albeit not without their participation. Sound has always played a part in "control" for example when people would row boats.

They use 'music' in the military to march with. It is a way of 'controlling a large group of people who have been trained to listen for it'. Start playing a "hip hop" song and you will see a large number of teenagers (and even some adults...lol) start bouncing and keeping with the 'beat'.

Absolute control? Not sure about that. You might want to expound on your definition of "control".

I know what you mean. I love to listen to Christian/Praise music, and the Lord has shown me that whenever the devil comes against me, suddenly my desire to listen to music fades. It's very subtle and it can be on going for days until I'm able to wake up to what's happening.

Good music lifts the soul and the spirit. It encourages you and can fill you up with joy and hope. However, that is a God given gift. (Just because Lucifer was created as an angel of music doesn't mean he invented music and it's all evil)

I totally think that music can be used to try to control the mind. Anyone recall hearing stories of the government torturing terrorist by making them listen to Eminem all day?

Just look how much in the last decade mainstream pop music has just become so awful and cheesy. Theres no artistry there at all. Whats going on?

Theres good evidence pointing to a lot of these pop artists ::: Britney, Beyonce, Hannah Montana, Madonna, Rihanna, MJ etc and many Hollywood actresses are actually mind controlled slaves. Time to get my tinhat on?:screwloose.....unfortunatley its all true>>

That Lady Gaga track is pure rubbish.

Really....the video is horrid :::::::: I mean young kids are fans of this idol.

And the music? Oh boy.....its just generic Madonna style dance/pop monkey dung. Awful. No melody, trashy electro beat. Instantly forgettable. Hate it.
