Barça Alusport have qualified for the Liga’s semifinals playoff. The reigning champions of the competition fought back against Carncer Torrejón (5-2) to clinch a berth in the next round of the competition. To win the title, the Azulgranas will have to first face Inter Movistar, who beat Triman Navarra. After securing a spot in the semifinals, the FCB players offered up the Copa del Rey title to the Palau.
Spectacular start
In an atypical and surprising start, Carnicer Torrejón took the lead after only nine seconds of play thanks to an own goal from Igor. Marc Carmona’s men, however, replied quickly before the first minute ticked off the game clock. Wilde brought Barça level after a great collective play between Saad and Ari. The frantic pace of the game didn’t slow down after the goal and Rivillos, from point-blank range, took advantage of a rebound to give his team the lead (1-2).
Unsuccessful Barça onslaught
The game calmed down a bit in terms of goals scored, even though Barça were trying to to score the equaliser. Their opponents, however, did their best to deny the Azulgranas by playing defensive futsal in the hopes of nicking another goal onthe counter.
The Barça players could not get bast the wall that was Mendiola in goal. The keeper saved a shot from Wilde and Fernandao’s shot crashed against the post on 10 minutes. Lozano also tried his luck on various occasions, but he was also denied. The teams went to the break with the 1-2 still on the scoreboard.
Barça fight back and kill off the match
The start of the second half was marked by the inaccuracy both on defence and offence from the Madrid side. Wilde had the chance to bring Barça level but his shot wen narrowly wide. However, Lozano, with a powerful long-range shot, did find the back of the net.
With the 2-2 draw, the Culés enjoyed multiple chances to take the lead. Finally, it was Lin that scored the go-ahead goal. Carnicer Torrejón, however, triedto get the equaliser, but Saad sealed the win and the qualification to the semis with Barça’s fourth goal. Lozano closed out the scoring at the Palau Blaugrana with the fifth and definitive goal. Inter Movistar await Barça in the semifinals.

WWW.FCBARCELONA.CAT 05/26/2012 13:31
After beating Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey Final, FC Barcelona will face Real Madrid in the 2012 Spanish Super Cup
Barça have always qualified for the competition during Guardiola’s four-year stint on theAzulgrana bench, furthermore, they’ve won the title three years in a row

For the fourth consecutive year FC Barcelona will fight for the Spanish Super Cup after beating Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey Final on Friday. Which means thatthe Azulgranas will once again face Real Madrid in a repeat of last year’s two-leg title tie. In the 2011/12 season, Barça won the title after drawing 2-2 at the Bernabéu and winning 3-2 at the Camp Nou .
Josep Guardiola has always led his team to a Spanish Super Cup berth during his four-year stint on the Barça bench. The Azulgranas, moreover, have won each and every Spanish Super Cup that they’ve played with Guardiola as manager. In 2009 they beat Athletic Club in the final, in 2010 they saw off Sevilla and in 2011 they beat Real Madrid .
Vilanova will watch the match from the stands
The Spanish Super Cup tie brings a bit of added motivation for the Barça players. It will be the first title in play for Tito Vilanova as head manager of FC Barcelona after Guardiola’s departure. It’s the best possible stage for Tito tomake his debut: in a Barça-Madrid Clásico . However, Vilanova will have to watch the first match from the stands. The same goes for José Mourinho , who will miss the first and second leg due to the two-match ban he earned during last year’s Spanish Super Cup match at the Camp Nou.
Sixth Spanish Super Cup Clásico
Barça and Real Madrid have played against each other on fiveoccasions in this tournament. Therecord in the Spanish Super Cup currently favours the Madrid side as they’ve gone on to win the title on four occasions. However, it’s worth mentioning that Barça beat Real Madrid for the first time in the competition last year and the Azulgranas have won theSpanish Super Cup three years in a row.
The Azulgranas are the King of Cups in this competition as well. They’ve won the title on 10 occasions, Real Madrid have won it 8 times. Barça also have more appearances in the Spanish Super Cup; Barça have played in the title tie 17 times, while Madrid have featured in the two-leg final 12 times.

The team captains thank the supporters
After the musical performances, the lights of the Camp Nou were turned off and the captains Iniesta , Valdés , Xavi and Puyol came out onto the pitch. The first people to come out of the tunnel were the technical staff, followed by the Barça B players and later the first team. It was the Camp Nou’s way of closing out a successful season and, at the same time, bidding farewell to the most successful manager in the history of the Club .

Pedro – goal king in the finals

Pedro’s brace at the Vicente Calderon on Friday night means that he has scored in all five finals he’s played in – Champions League, Spanish and European Super Cups, World Club Cup and the Spanish Cup

Pedro, protagonista de la final. FOTOS: MIGUEL RUIZ / ÀLEX CAPARRÓS-FCB.
Pedro Rodríguez has a knack of getting important goals and his first and third goals against Bilbao on Friday showed once again how important he is to the team in finals, having scored in each of the finals he’s figured in since he made his debut in the 2008/09 season.
He first made his mark with a goal in the Spanish Super Cup first leg at San Mames at the start of the 09/10 season and he followed that up with a decisive strike in extra time of the European Super Cup and another in the final of the World Club Cup which took the game into extra time.
Last season, he scored the openerin the Champions League final against Manchester United at Wembley and that meant he was just missing a goal in the SpanishCup to match Leo Messi – the onlyother player in the squad who’s scored in the finals of all the Cup competitions – something he achieved on Friday.
Record Man
The 2009/10 season saw Pedro really explode onto the scene and his hard work, tactical discipline and particularly his goals made him an icon of the team that won the 6 cups, becoming the first player in the history of the game to score in six competition in a single season– League, Champions League, European and Spanish Super Cups, Spanish Cup and World ClubCup – something Messi has managed this season.

Goal: 1-0, Marta Corredera, min 46.
Referee: Raúl Calle Martínez.
They had to wait until the last week of the competition, but they did it. The FC Barcelona Women’s team clinched the Liga title for the first time in the history of the Club after beating Sporting de Huelva. A goal from Marta Corredera at the start of the second half tipped the scales in Barça’s favour and the team’s dream became a reality.
Level at the half
The team led by Xavi Llorens were aware of what was at stakein the last match of the season - reason enough to come out swinging in the first half. On two minutes Sònia had the first chance of the game when she unleashed a powerful left-footedshot that was saved by Sporting’skeeper. The Azulgranas kept on the attack and kept on looking for the go-ahead goal, but the ball simply wouldn’t go in.
Sònia was the point player for Barça as she tried once and againto break Sporting’s defence, but to no avail. She hit the woodwork on 29 minutes and two minutes later, Meli connectedwith Karol ’s cross, but a good save from the keeper held the Azulgranas.
The women’s team kept at it as they laid siege to Sporting’s goal, the only thing that was lacking was finding the back of the net. Finally, Barça went to the dressing room with the initial 0-0on the scoreboard, a result that would give them the title.
Corredera scores the winner
The Azulgranas needed a goal in the second half to put their worries at rest. Llorens’ team were finally rewarded for their offensive pressure in the first minute. Karol took advantage of Sandra Garcia ’s mistake in the area and passed the ball to Marta Corredera . Corredera fired her shot into the back of the net. The goal, besides securing the title, was also scored for a good cause. The Club had agreed to donate 100€ per goal to the Marathon against Poverty.
Despite the goal, the Andalusian side continued to play defensively and FCB looked to increase their lead. However, Lola , Sporting’s keeper, did well to hold Barça to one goal. The FCB women’s team made history aftersecuring the second title of the season, the first was the Catalonia Cup.
The Primera División Femenina title wasn’t the only good news of the day, however. Sònia Bermúdez finished the season as the highest goal scorer of the competition with 38 goals . Moreover, the team closed out the season with another win at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, meaning that they’ve won all of their home matches this season. The team will celebrate the Liga title with their families at La Tegliata de Cornellà.

Raising funds for a good cause
The match between Guardiola and Tito Vilanova’s Barças was played to raise funds, through ticket sales and goals scored, for TV3 and Catalonia Radio’s Marathon against Poverty. The proceeds are allocated to organizations that focus on the plight of individuals that are at risk of social exclusion. On top of what was raised today, FC Barcelona have already donated 200,000 euros to the cause.
No one was left offside this afternoon at the Palau Sant Jordi during the charity match for TV3 and Catalonia Radio’s Marathon against Poverty . The stands werepacked with supporters to watch the futsal match between Pep Guardiola ’s Barça and Tito Vilanova ’s Barça in a celebration of solidarity and brotherhood. The completely sold-out crowd, 14,000 to be precise, truly enjoyed the show put on by the Azulgrana players who exchanged their cleats for indoorshoes for the day. Valdés , Xavi , Iniesta , Pinto , Piqué ... the whole team gave it their all to put on a spectacular show in their last (unofficial) match of the season.
The injured players also didn’t want to miss out on tonight’s match. They all watched the match from the stands, as did President Sandro Rosell . Only Messi , Mascherano , Alexis , Keita and Afellay , all called up for international duty, were missing.Pep Guardiola and Tito Vilanova called up Barça B players; Dos Santos , Ilie , Espinosa , Montoya , Tello , Bartra , Muniesa , Rodri , Masip and Gustavo all featured in today’s futsal match.
300 per goal for the Marathon against Poverty
Pep Guardiola presented his lineup: Masip, Sergio Busquets, Adriano, Iniesta, and Tello - the starting five. On his bench: Dos Santos, Muniesa and Gustavo. While Tito Vilanova sent out Pinto, Montoya, Piqué, Xavi and Pedro -starting five. On Tito’s bench: Bartra, Espinosa and Rodri. Valdés and Rodri were permanent fixtures on the court, they played for the team that hadthe ball. They all put in spectacular performances, and even though it was a friendly match, the goals were decisive. The Club decided that for every goal scored, 300 euros would be donated to the Marathon against Poverty. The game ended in an 8-8 draw, 16 goals which means 4,800 euros went to help individuals that are dealing with extreme poverty in and around Barcelona.
Valdés and Piqué, the heart of the party
The team’s dedication to the cause was evident, but Valdés and Piqué stole the show. The keeper, who left his gloves in thedressing room, fulfilled the dream that many children have: to be Messi for a day. Valdés customized his jersey by adding azero adjacent to the number one that the keeper usually dons on his back to make 10, Leo Messi's number. In fact, Valdés did prettywell - he put Pinto to the test on more than one occasion.
Gerard Piqué was also determined to put on a show - the defender, acting like a Harlem Globetrotter, was the showman on the court. During halftime, he was even challengedby the Barça Alusport players (Barça’s professional futsal team),who were also present, to nail a shot through a small grid in frot of the goal.
Farewell a la sardana
The Marathon against Poverty charity match was Barça’s last match of the season and the fans at the Palau Sant Jordi knew it. They chanted Guardiola’s name, who can now say that his time with Barça is officially over. The fans also chanted Tito Vilanova’s name, the incoming manager for next season. Éric Abidal also got astanding ovation from the fans.
With the final 8-8 result, the players decided to have a penaltyshootout to decide the winner. Guardiola’s team were the victors. As is tradition, after the match the players performed a sardana (traditional Catalan dance) to close out the festive evening.
