Whale evolution is presented in most biology textbooks as absolute fact, often with inaccurate depictions of the supposed transitional forms.

Then there is the huge evolutionary problem with explaining how baleen could have evolved. The current model of toothed whales losing their teeth, becoming suction feeders, and then “evolving” baleen is composed of “just so” stories with no data to back up evolutionary hypotheses.

As YE creationist Kurt Wise admits, fossil whales are currently an inexplicable puzzle for YE creationists, although he hopes someday there might be a reasonable creationist explanation. But more to your point a transitional baleen whale:

Anatomy, feeding ecology, and ontogeny of a transitional baleen whale: a new genus and species of Eomysticetidae (Mammalia: Cetacea) from the Oligocene of New Zealand

And added to that is the problem of the origin of echolocation in some whales.

Most mammals can echolocate. You, for example, can do that. Takes a little practice to get good at it, but many blind people use it.
