What are you listening to?

A Christmas tune:

Lowborn to the world was the image of what was always invisible
Unending light now veiled in the flesh - impossible!
Lowborn - Savior! Setting aside Your glory above
Emmanuel! What a world You love!
The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will raise to life

Hear the song of the angels
“Glory lays in a manger
Fear not the advent of the Great I AM
Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb"
Come behold and [Hear the angels sing]
Lift your voices [Hail the Lowborn King]
See the mystery [God become a man]
Lift your voices to the Lamb

Chased and hunted down by kings that sought His crown
Still He never thought to return and withdraw grace
Selfless, is the God who makes peace with us fallen people
He has come for those who are in the shadow of death
O the Lowborn – Savior! What a world You love!

Hear the song of the angels
“Glory lays in a manger
Fear not the advent of the Great I AM
Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb"

Lowborn God, save us from sin!
Lowborn God, save us – save! Come save our souls!
The unseen God silently lays
Waiting until the glorious day
The Incarnate Divine put His life out on the line
For children of the dust while lifting up our curse

The Lowborn will save us
Guide us into the way of peace
Lowborn! Lowborn! Guide us into peace
Lowborn! Lowborn! Make our sorrows cease

Hear the song of the angels, “Glory comes to us as a Lamb”
Hear the song of the angels
“Glory lays in a manger
Fear not the advent of the Great I AM
Humble He comes to the world as a Lamb"
Come behold and [Hear the angels sing]
Lift your voices [Hail the Lowborn King]
See the mystery [God become a man]
Lift your voices Glory to the Lowborn

A little better today, but didn't realize how down I've been over the last few months till I tried to socialize in mixed company last night and discovered I'm utterly incapable, LoL.

But life is good. We're called to die to ourselves and I've been here before, so good to be home.

I never thought too much of dying
And I never thought about the end
Too many things to keep me hanging
Too many reasons not to bend

But lately
My life's a funeral
Who'll save me?
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a funeral

The apples become medication
And I still believe I've got control
Like everybody else around me
The life is draining from my soul
And it's getting old

But lately
My life's a funeral
Who'll save me?
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a funeral

I wait for time to do its healing
It seemed to do it in the past
The knot will slowly start to loosen
The hope to live again at last
And I hope I last

But lately
My life's a funeral
Who'll save me?
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a perpetual funeral
My life's a funeral

[Verse 1]
Where have you been? Been searching all along
Came facing twilight, on and on, without a clue
Without a sign - without grasping, yet
The real question to be asked: where have I been?

[Chorus]
I'm a shapeshifter at Poe's masquerade
Hiding both face and mind, all free for you to draw
I'm a shapeshifter - what else should I be?
Please don't take off my mask, revealing dark

[Verse 2]
Moments of calm, nothing left to be found
A mirror right in front of me, that's where I find
An empty glass, reflecting the sad truth
It's telling words not to be told: I need the mask

[Chorus]
I'm a shapeshifter at Poe's masquerade
Hiding both face and mind, all free for you to draw
I'm a shapeshifter, chained down to my core
Please don't take off my mask, my place to hide

[Bridge]
I can't tell you how to see me
Just a cage of bones, there's nothing inside
Will it unleash me, burning down the walls?
Is there a way for me to break?

[Chorus]
I'm a shapeshifter at Poe's masquerade
Hiding both face and mind, all free for you to draw
I'm a shapeshifter; have no face to show
Please don't take off my mask, my disguise

I have an "anxiety calm" playlist with a lot of spiritual songs or worship songs, but I also have an "anxiety vent" playlist. Sometimes the calm playlist doesn't quite do it and I need some catharsis. Linkin Park is a good band for that.

Oh boy, I could list recommendations ga'lore.

I mainly listen to worship and Christian rap. Some hard hitters for rap are:

I could go on and on lol

I have been on something of an 80s kick….

Depeche Mode the smiths Kate bush pixies…

True story: I was listening to joy division too loud in my car 🚗 recently and it dawned on me…

I’m actually 40. Yes, it happened lol 😆

So what are y’all listening to?
I do like some 80's music like Michael Jackson KISS things like that I am more of 90's as I grew up in that era.

I didn’t really get into pop culture until 12/13 years old. For whatever reasons my tastes seem to run retro lol 😆

It’s weird now being 41 years old and feeling so out of it when it comes to movies music etc. I read an article about a study that came to the conclusion that musical tastes are set between ages of 18 and 30. And…

Maybe? Part of it I think has to do with the social aspect…

Once you hit 25 in some subcultures it’s pretty much party 🎈 over. After 30 it seems like the media industry wants your money 💴 but they’re not all that interested in you compared to younger demographics.

Rambling…

Here’s a song I discovered recently and play on loop 🔁.

Hm, let's see... at 18 I discovered music I actually liked. "Classical" and "non-contemporary" music that my parents raised me on just wasn't doing it for me. I started with CCM and quickly developed a taste for hard rock.
From there... ah, punk rock, grunge, metal... whatever Owl City is.... more pop type music.

I'm 32 now. My favorite music tends to be hard rock and softer metal, and Owl City, a good variety of stuff aside from that...

Can't link the current music I'm listening to here due to contains a swear word

Is it just me or do many Christian songs all kind of sound the same?. LIke the singers all have the same type of style and sound similar. I think its nice music but I notice they all sound similar. Like mega church bands.
