As those of you who were here last year you already know that I asked this question last year. Now that Halloween is over Thanksgiving is just right around the corner!! :biggrin2 That means consuming delicious turkey, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie!! :thumbsup However even though that's a part of Thanksgiving, that really isn't what the holiday is all about. It's truly amazing how many blessings that we have in our lives that we take for granted that we completely forget to thank God for. So I will start off this year's thanks for stating what I am thankful for. :)

This year I am thankful for having such wonderful friends and family as well as a loving God who loves me unconditionally, has forgiven me for my sins, has sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for me, and has stuck by my side as my very close and personal friend when I've needed Him the most. I am also thankful for the food in my belly, the clothes on my back, and the fact that my mother and I get to spend some very special time together geocaching,.. for since I'm moving out to be out on my own and married in a few year's time, (although we will still visit and make some special time to be together) I am thankful for every moment we get to spend together. :) (I am also thankful for the fact that she puts up with me lol! :lol)

Speaking of my fiancée, I am thankful for how much he loves me and even though we have been going through some rough times for the past few years, how much we still love each other and that we have always been at each other's side and have grown closer together because of it. :) Finally, I am just thankful to be living in a free country (and thankful for all of the men and women who died defending it) and to be alive and even though she knew that she wouldn't be able to be the one to raise me that my birth mother gave me a chance at life by putting me up for adoption into a wonderful loving family. :)

Well that's it!! Now that you know what I'm thankful for, it's your turn and I'm really curious what all of the different responses will be. :wink So on that note I will repeat what I said in the official Thanksgiving countdown that this year I will try and remember to do a virtual Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day along with the ninety-third annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade livestream. :yes So on that note, happy Thanksgiving everybody!! :biggrin (Oh and just so you know this is my current background on my laptop and I'm a fraction of an inch away from eating my computer screen!! :lol)

Thanks HeIsRisen2018!

I'm thankful for many, many things including this Forum.

I'm exceptionally thankful for all the staff that volunteers their time to set the tone of the board and spur us all to growth. JohnDB, thank you for everything you help me do behind the scenes to keep this place going.

WIP, for_his_glory and Truthfrees thank you all so much for your time and talent. Your presence on the board makes this a much better place.

For all of our members who contribute to making this board drama free and non-confrontational, a very special thanks to each and everyone of you. Your the core of this site and without you, we wouldn't move forward.

Oh yes Uncle Jeff of course I'm also thankful for this forum. :biggrin2 I must say that my own life is less full of drama and to all of the people on this board,.. my online grandmother Tessa, my online sister for_his_glory, and my online father JohnDB,.. I love you all!! :biggrin
Now wait a second... How can Tessa be your grandma when I'm quiet sure you must be older than her.

Uh no,.. she's like seventy something years old lol!! :lol Of course that's only the outside as you're only as old as you feel on the inside. :) Btw, I forgot to mention that anybody can reply to this thread even if they're not American as I would think that everybody has something to be thankful for. Oh and this is to get us in the mood for Thanksgiving. :biggrin I will post the entire lyrics in a few moments.

Oh yeah and Canadians have a Thanksgiving as well even though theirs is in October and I'm not sure if other countries have one or not. :confusedAnyways, here you go. Everybody sing now!! :biggrin2

Over the river and through the woods,
To grandmother's house we go;
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh,
Through (the) white and drifted snow!

Over the river and through the woods,
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose,
As over the ground we go.

Over the river and through the woods,
To have a first-rate play;
Oh, hear the bells ring, "Ting-a-ling-ling!"
Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!

Over the river and through the woods,
Trot fast, my dapple gray!
Spring over the ground,
Like a hunting hound!
For this is Thanksgiving Day.

Over the river and through the woods,
And straight through the barnyard gate.
We seem to go extremely slow
It is so hard to wait!

Over the river and through the woods,
Now Grandmother's cap I spy!
Hurrah for the fun! Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!

Btw, I can't forget my online grandpappy Papa Zoom!! :biggrin No matter what part we play in this online family of ours, I'm also thankful to be a part of it. :)

I am thankful for God's grace that has saved a wench like me. I'm grateful for a loving family and a beautiful mother I love so much. I'm grateful for my gift from God being my husband Steve of 22 years in January. I'm grateful for my second family here on CF and for all that StoveBolts and JohnDB do to make this site possible and to all who donate to help keep this ministry online.

I'm thankful for all God's provision providing us with a roof over our head and food in our belly as I pray this to all who have not the necessities in life that God will provide for them by others giving and helping those in need especially with the colder weather coming.

I'm most grateful that I have the privilege of being a servant of God with the freedom to help spread the good news of the Gospel of God's grace that pardons our sin and His mercy that loves us even when we mess up at times as to Him be all the glory and honor, amen.

This song brings a tear to my eyes remembering going to our Grandparents house for the holidays when we were kids even though they lived next door and there was no river or woods to get to their house. They were truly the personification of the holidays and all the good smells that came out of their kitchen on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I miss them so much, but we will all be together again.

I would like to thank everyone in the world who made this year great and a blessing to live, except all the everyday idiots and fools, and the jihadists, Boko Haram, ISIS, Hamas, the 72 virgins, the Muslim Brotherhood, and a few others.

Hey, you left out something as being thankful for all the fish you caught this year. How could you leave out fishing!!! :shame

That is right! Since we're to live eternally through the grace of God, I wondered how old I really am?! So going with God's word, I see that one day is as a thousand years to the Lord. That works out to for forty-one years to us is as one hour to God!

I immediately felt better for stumbling sometimes, realizing that I am (57) less than an hour and a half old, so just kind of young and dumb at times but I have plenty of time to grow up and learn! So you are even less than an hour old, yourself. Tessa is less than 2 hours old, she is a youngster too! We all are I guess. But if you think about it, if we are to live eternally...then it has already begun! Barely!

Which brings me to what I am thankful for. We may be young, but it is still long enough that it can seem a long time to us. So...knowing me, I am very thankful for the Lord's longsuffering with us! He is so patient and loving towards us.

Although I didn't really follow all of that one hundred percent, I still really liked what you said. :) Oh yeah and here's another fun little Thanksgiving tune. :biggrin

Oh btw, I really got to eat lunch but it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without this wonderful classic. :wink

Yay! I am excited for Thanksgiving (as usual)!

This year has been an excellent one for us. I am thankful for my family. I am grateful I have a loving husband that sticks with me and my weirdness haha, and also my kids that have their moments, but are overall so precious and I love to see them learn and grow. I am thankful for the church family I have and their support and encouragement. I am thankful that we were able to purchase my parents old home and that we have a van that they gifted to us - it has all been nothing but a blessing and has taken a lot of weight off of our shoulders. I am thankful that we have a caring neighbor across from us that has blessed us with much help. I am thankful not to be in one of the hottest cities in the country, but be where I can enjoy the seasons to their fullest both hot and cold. I am thankful for our chickens that supply us eggs. I am most thankful for a God that can answer like all my prayers within a year's time when on my own, it would have taken years longer. Praise the Lord!

May you all have a blessed Thanksgiving this year!

This year has been kinda boring...
But I'm thankful for the opportunity to touch the lives we have. (The "Mrs" and I)

I'm thankful for my friends.
That I dodged a bullet and only have to cook one Thanksgiving meal.
Physical therapy has given me more use of my shoulder.
Vehicles and appliances have been trouble but we've been able to meet them all.
My wife's job also went kaput but she starts a new one in a week...

All kinds of major problems...but we've been able to fix all of them and still do "stuff" for others that have affected their lives.

I'm hopeful for a better year next year.
