What do demons look like?

Are demons the same as devils, or unclean spirits? If so, reading the following scripture there are about two thousand of them, they have entered swine, are washed in a salty place, and being choked probably say very little.

Mar 5:9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
Mar 5:10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
Mar 5:11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
Mar 5:12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
Mar 5:13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

The above is a reminder that demons will often appear as birds or animals to those who accept this as a reality. American Indians believed strongly that birds and animals were actually spirits communicating with them. And there is no reason to doubt that either. Spirits can enter bodies of men, animals, and birds. There are many at present walking around on earth as *people* and leading others astray.
 
They look like fun, your best idea ever...harmless fun...everyone does this except for the most legalistic Christian... Who does nothing....you know that guy; he repents after having boring sex with his wife for the lustful thoughts on her. Yeah...you know that guy who won't... He wears either lace underwear or his boxers inside out because the seams chafe...

So obviously I must do........
 
Have no ideal what they look like but the bad ones sure do give off an ?aura? that will send chills down your spine, put ya in a bad mood and make people do crazy stuff like the female in Las Vegas last year who just decided to run everybody down outside the miss american pagent, while the announcer messed up who won, lots of confusion in a small area. Actually it was weekly last year leading up to Xmas, week after week of waiting for the news to announce another mass killing somewhere.
 
Demons can be deceptive.

What appears is not what they are.

They are legion

Concerning us we read in James 4:14, what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Demons on the other hand leave for a time when driven out, but soon reappear stronger and takes with them seven other spirits more wicked than themselves. (Lk 11:26)

With demons their looks are deceptive, they utter lies, affect their associations on all others, and while looking as what we would consider an angel for our good, they must be read of all men in a MIRRORED effect to avoid destruction, and they will be seen as they are. Surely we can say about them; there is not one good, no, not one.

That is one tactic. The other tactic is to appear as rabid Jihadists and suicide bombers wantonly killing and beheading innocents. One should not discount the fact that Radical Islam is Satan's own creation, and his Jihadists are demon-possessed. How else do you explain the utter madness of these men who think they are serving God while serving Satan?
 
hmmmm....good points. When I think of Satan, I think of feel good, New Age-y stuff. Like counselors and therapists who get $$$ for deepak chopra stuff and crystals and tarot cards. Its deep in the culture now.
 
Well I know some people who say they have seen them. Know someone who said he saw some tall dark figures walking around the house and prayed for three days for them to leave before they did.
Also know one person who was into trying to communicate with "ghosts" and got some responses. They asked them questions, got answers, correct answers. I think those were actually demons.

That is right, particularly the 'aura' thing. If you are in the Spirit you will always notice the presence of evil spirits when they com around.

I knew someone like that once too. Got into the occult, talking to ghosts as such. They were actually demons and they tricked her and drove her to the point of being ready to kill herself until I met up with her and we prayed together to drive them away. It took her a long time to recover, and I suspect she will have to live with the effects of that the rest of her life.

Thank you for the boldness. In my journey as a 'toddler' I would run away from such people., but not these days when we eat meat.

Thanks, but I don't know how bold it was on my part. When it was over it left me shaking and gasping for breath. (And I'm not someone unfamiliar with being in terrifying situations either.) I sure wouldn't go looking for it. The person was someone I met on this forum actually (no longer active here though) so it wasn't someone I could just walk away from. Some times we as Christians think these evil spirits have no power over us, but if we foolishly go in and play around we are playing with fire. When invited, they certainly do have power and they can kill us long before God is able to accomplish His will in our lives. That's their goal!

Once in the situation with a person like this you just do what you have to do and trust God to give you the power and strength needed. When the time comes are you going to put into practice what you've always talked about? Are you going to actually trust God and allow Him to do His will through you? Or were you lying all this time about your faith? Those are the questions I ask myself in these situations, and I find I simply can not deny God, even if it were to mean my own death. And when you truly do face Satan, it very well can mean your death. But I would rather die doing God's will than live a while longer because I cowered like a little baby and refused to do what God needed me to do. When faced with it, I was glad (albeit surprised) to find I stuck to my conviction. That's when it becomes obvious what it feels like when God's power is working through you and not just you doing something by your own determination. It leaves you kind of numb and in a state of awe where it's so obvious it was God working that there is no way you could ever take any credit for it. That only happens when God chooses. I've faced it 3 times now, and would be just fine if I never have to again. But if God calls, I hope I will once again trust in Him to be faithful to his word that He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world.

LOL! A lot of guys feel that way. And a lot of women feel that way about ex husbands or boyfriends too! But if she truly was, you wouldn't be saying "I think". Believe me, you would know. And you would never forget.
