Bible Study what does bible say about wearing a beard ? and shaving it ? ( full explination )

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
1Pe 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
1Pe 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1Pe 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy

It sure would be helpful to give your thoughts as to why you post certain passages. Are you addressing the priesthood issue, my stumbling over the Word, or something else?

I totally agree that the New Covenant Is far more glorious than the old. I am a NC believer. I do not live under the OC. The OC was the mere letter of the law written on stone and it brought forth death. Under the NC, we have the indwelling Spirit that helps us to obey the law which is now written on our hearts.

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith YHWH, I will put my law (Torah) in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
As I understand the Ten Commandments were written on stone.
The first 5 books of the Bible is the old law the Jews followed and Jesus replaced for Christians. Jews have the ability to become Christians they choose not to.

Yes, they were written on stone under the OC and written in our hearts under the NC. Some choose to not allow them to be written on their hearts.

The "old law" you refer to includes:

Love YHWH with all your heart, soul and might Deuteronomy 6:5
Love thy neighbor as thyself - Leviticus 19:18
Honor thy parents - Exodus 20:12
Thou shalt not murder - Exodus 20:13
Thou shalt not commit adultery - Exodus 20:14
. . .
Why are you still keeping these old laws? Weren't they "replaced"?

If I was a Jew, I would not want to become a Christian either. They are taught that their God died; that they can now eat pig and work on the holy Sabbath day; that their beloved Torah is abolished; that their holy feast days have been replaced by man-made holidays of Easter and Christmas. Why would they want to abandon the great truths they were taught for that? The Jews of Paul's day received Yeshua as Savior and Messiah, but they never abandoned those great truths.

there are commands found in the torah that cant be negated by the cross.
thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit adultery, thou shall not bear false witness, thou shall not worship any other god beside me.. genesis has something that are still there. the idea of how god feels about adultery, sodomy and also murder are all to be found in that book. nevermind what caused the flood and there was more to just sodomy with the two cities of Sodom and gommorah that cause their judgement.

I did not say Yeshua's disciples are called to the Levitical priesthood. I was simply using the earthly priesthood to teach a spiritual parallel as Christian teachers do all the time. For example, if Christian pastors are not Levitical priests, why do they always collect tithes? Should we embrace spiritual parallels only when they profit us, but reject them when they call us to make harder choices?
The pastors teaching tithes are wrong in my opinion, especially when they don't even teach them as the Law says.

We are not told what priesthood we belong to. However, we are told to follow our High Priest's example. He had a beard and so should his male followers.
BTW, the law that was changed in verse 12 only pertains to the law stating from which tribe the High Priest must come. That law was changed prior to Yeshua's first coming through the oath that Yahweh made in Psalm 110:4.
I think it is actually the change in the priesthood that causes the change in the law.
It rather reminds me of the people who were sent to a sanctuary city. They had to stay there until the high priest changed and then they could leave.

Romans 7:4-6

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
  • Ac 15:5, 28-29 - ". . . believers among the Pharisees said, "The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the law". . .the Council at Jerusalem decided "not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: Abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality."

I could not find a edit tool to put this in post 46 so Im adding it here, sorry.
Hebrews 10:16

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
I found the edit afterwards duh.

Hebrews 7:27
Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Isaiah 53:7
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Isaiah 50:6
I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

Plucked = sheared (IMHO)

Messiah Jesus offered up his beard in the New Testament without comment. IMHO, I have by faith (faith in what he did) a spiritual beard reaching to my belly button. I no longer have my physical beard (no edge marred beard that would reach my navel).

Jeremiah 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people

When a gentile has the law written in his heart, IMHO, he / she is taking advantage of their grafted in benefit. The promise was made to the Jews. Humbly a Gentile does not have a genetic right to understanding the deeper meaning of the Law. Being spiritually grafted in grants access to promises (no arrogance tolerated).

The ox is compared to a preacher. The sabbath is compared to a one time " it is finished". Once Jew and Gentile are one, we share the same thoughts. The moon is the symbol of Jesus reflecting His Father in the darkness of this world.

No matter what our man made traditions say, we all should allow the mind of Christ to enter .

everything you mention is covered in the NT
