What does friendship mean to you

God's voice is the same exact voice that Adam was told to listen to but once Eve was formed and Satan got a hold of her, Adam was deceived by her voice from Satan instead. All their offspring have been listening to the voice of Satan and eventually the Beast that came after the flood.

I've been listening to the voice of God ever since December 7th, 1979 when He spoke these words into my mind, "I AM YOUR CREATOR". Ever since that moment, I've been listening only to His voice and obeying all His commandments. Now I am preaching the Gospel, which is His voice.
And what Gospel is it that you are preaching?

Exodus 4:
10: But Moses said to the LORD, "Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either heretofore or since thou hast spoken to thy servant; but I am slow of speech and of tongue."
11: Then the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Who makes him dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
12: Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak."

Psalm 33
8: Let all the earth fear the LORD, let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
9: For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood forth.
10: The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nought; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
11: The counsel of the LORD stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12: Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
13: The LORD looks down from heaven, he sees all the sons of men;
14: from where he sits enthroned he looks forth on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15: he who fashions the hearts of them all, and observes all their deeds.
16: A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
17: The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save.

If you are chosen as one of God's believers and finally calm down. I can share many details that God provided for me during my 37 years of obeying His commandments. He knows every tiny detail of His creation. It's totally amazing how He can do that.
So have you obeyed all his commandments?

To you and the religious Jews who believed in their scriptures instead of the Gospel of God that Jesus preached and all the other saints who came behind him, here's some scripture to prove to you that the Lord is reading this thread. He knows exactly what you're writing so He knows what to give me to prove you're not born of Him.

2 Corinthians 3;
14: But their minds were hardened; for to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away.
15: Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their minds;
16: but when a man turns to the Lord the veil is removed.
17: Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
18: And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

You still have the "veil" blinding you from the Truth because you believe in your own interpretations of what you read in the scriptures instead of trusting the Gospel of God ( voice of the Lord ).

John 5
37: And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness to me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen;
38: and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe him whom he has sent.
39: You search the scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness to me;
40: yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.
Sorry but you really are off line here and out of order. How on earth can you judge as you have per your quote.

He knows exactly what you're writing so He knows what to give me to prove you're not born of Him.

John 11:25-26
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

John 12:44-50
Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.”

Ok I'm going to ask you why you think th1b is not born of God or me for that matter, I beleive Jesus Christ is the son of God who died for my sin on the cross and cried out in pain as those nails were hammered into his FLESH and three days later that body that hung on that cross rose again (which Thomas touched) and and therefore through my confession of faith in what Jesus did then I'm not born again.

What is a Christian to you? What is a true believer to you? Who is actually saved?

I have no choice but to constantly obey God's commandments. Every word that forms in my mind comes from His thoughts and I have to write or speak those words regardless if someone is standing next to me with a gun pointing at my head to kill me. I will be preaching the Gospel until the day the three men finally corner me in an office room that God has already planned and put a bullet into my forehead. That is my future but that will kill my flesh that has been used to deceive me since it was birthed into this world. All flesh will perish to end this first temporary age.
Do you genuinely beleive that one day that God has ordained that a bullet will put into your forehead?

This might be off, but you remind me of someone. Because of that I want to ask. In another forum did you go by the name tmar?

Abide,

It seems we have gone off track with your post. I'm sorry.

The irony is that the conversation that Abide started was about friendship. But it is difficult sometimes to be a friend online when we don't know someone and really disagree with them. Or more pricisely, it's difficult to to a friendly arquaintace in those kinds of conditions. As important as it is to address the things from this conversation, I was really enjoying reading the insight on friends and deep friendships, verses people we know and have a brief or small relationship with.

Hi NNS
I also like this thread a lot. We never discussed this while I've been here. Almost a year now.
I understand well the difference between a friend and an acquaintance.

Since we've changed the meaning of "friend", I see that you used the term "deep friendships."

Another aspect I've always been interested in is why women have more friends and men rarely have a real friend.
Unfortunately, there are not too many girls here who post - sometimes I feel very lonely because of this!

I only know that women need friends more. Maybe because they're more emotional and need the support. Maybe they have problems with family that need to be handled and we feel men don't understand these problems very well. I don't know. These are generalizations, of course - everyone is different.

Why do you suppose men have less friends, or even no friend?

Wondering

You did not ask me but it is because of our egos.

You mean the same reason men hate to ask for directions when travelling?
Do women not have egos?
Are we more willing to admit we need help?

Wondering
All of my life I have been the oddball that stopped and asked where I was and how to best get to where I want to go. And yes, strong women have egos also.

hello wondering, dirtfarmer here

Why should we men ask for direction when we are sight-seeing?
I don't know if women have ego's, some do I guess, but it is the "Mothering" in them for little boys that men like.

Aha! So you're just sightseeing? Finally, I understand!!
Listen to me - some women have BIG egos; this could be problematic to all. Ditto for men.
As far as mothering men like little boys: I don't know. I'd like to think I married a man, not a boy.

hello wondering, dirtfarmer here

So, when your husband is ill, you don't fix him a hot toddy, you tell him to act like a man and fix it yourself?

I don't know. I can't speak for all men, nor even attempt to speak or any woman. My best guess is that the roles we fill in society have made an impact on each of us on a indivual and a cultural level. Today men and women are both in the workplace and it has been this way for some time. However men have a longer history of being the providers and protectors (with or without a family) and filling that role, defining it in what we do and our attitude probably has a rich history that has roots into our culture. Historically women have had both a different role, to stay home when the man goes to work (to farm or go to the city or even just slave 8 to 12 hours a day at a job not far away), and for some reason women have then filled the roles of building communities, being the structure for family's being raised in the home, and being there for eachother if another finds themself in a difficult sitution, such as a death in a person's family, or an abusive husband, or anything else. Hypothetically if this theory has merit, then it could help explain a bit on friendships built between men and women. Neighborhoods are usually stable, people stay in them. Jobs not so much, people move from job to job, or try to rise in the ranks of a work place.

Taking it outside of the large question of men and women, and onto the indivual side, I can't speak for women or most men. For me though, some things that stop me from developing new friendships. Time; I work a late shift at work and so socializing is limited. Commitment; sometimes I like more time for myself then I should and I've already got a decent number of friends and family I neglect, a new deep friendship in some ways almost seem like an insult to relationships I'm lacking to replace them with another one. Though not as big anymore, for a time fear was a reason also; either because I wasn't confidant in myself so didn't risk branching out to new friends, or later after a failed romantic relationship just afraid of losing anyone and everyone.

The friends I do have though, most of them I feel really good about. The deep friendships from some that I've known since grade school years, and the causal aquaintance friends I joke and talk to just passing by or at work. Both sets of those friends I feel really good about, like I'm not missing out at all on the friendship scale.

Egos?
Your ego is bigger than life itself.
