What Happens When We Die?

Humanity was doomed from the first generation.
Extinction was/is a certainty that cannot be changed.
Only "new creations" will continue as the Creator Has Chosen.

I just noticed the title and the op are two different things for this thread/subject.

All fall short and all can be raised through Christ. I believe a transgender who struggles with there identity or has issues yet puts there faith, trust, and belief in Christ is saved. If i can be saved anyone can be saved.

Sorry all, I got this thread mixed up with one in Christian Talk.

This is an old thread and the OP will not be replying.

The moderator might lock it.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 is used by many to say when we die we immediately go to be with the Lord in heaven, but these verses do not mean that at all. If you go back to verse one and two in chapter 5 the tabernacle being spoken of is our fleshly body and when we are in the flesh we are separated from God because flesh and Spirit can not mix, Romans 8:6, 7. Sin separates us from God because God is a spirit and can only recognize his own children by what spirit is living in their hearts. We have to renew, rebirth – born again Gods Spirit within us in order to be called a child of God and see the kingdom of heaven, John 3:3-7. We now put off the old man (flesh) and put on the new man (Spirit), Colossians 3:1-17. We are renewed by the word of God and through the Holy Spirit teaching us of all things, John 14:26.

John 3:6 that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit. When we are in the flesh or at home in the body this is our natural carnal being. When we are in the Spirit allowing Gods Spirit to take over the flesh then we are in the presence of the Lord through the Holy Spirit that dwells in us.

God breathed life (breath/spirit) into us, Genesis 2:7, that made us a living soul and what goes back to God when this physical body dies (returns to the dust of the ground) is that very spirit of life God gave us, Ecclesiastics 12:7. Only those of faith under the old covenant (OT) and those of faith under the new covenant through Christ Jesus (NT) will God take that spirit back and reserve it until Christ returns. At that time we are raised with a new glorified body, 1Corintians 15:51-58; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18, and then we are given back that spirit of life to have everlasting life with the Father.

According to John 3:13 no one has ever ascended into heaven other than Christ. Scripture says we sleep in the ground until the coming of the Lord. Those whose names are written in the Lambs Book of Life will be raised to everlasting life with God and those who names are not found will face Gods Great White Throne Judgment and will be cast into the lake of fire, John 5:28, 29; Revelations 20:11-15.

(Note: there are three heavens)

First heaven is the firmament, Earths Atmosphere, which is the immediate sky, Genesis 2:19; 7:3, 23; Psalms 8:8; Lamentations 4:19. The second heaven is the starry heavens, where our atmosphere ends. It is the heavens in which the sun, moon, and stars are fixed in orbit, Deuteronomy 17:3; Jeremiah 8:2; Matthew 24:29. Third Heaven is where God and the holy angels and spirits of just men dwell. It is called “The heaven of heavens,” Deuteronomy 10:14; 1 Kings 8:27; Psalms 115:16; 148:4; 1Kings 8:27; Psalms 2:4.

Nowhere in the Bible does it state what we will actually look like when we return with Jesus when he plants His feet on the Mount of Olives and fights the final battle as described in Zechariah chapter 4, except that we will be conformed to His glorious body, Philippians 3:21; 1Corinthians 15:43; 1John 3:2. After this final siege of Jerusalem is won by Christ forever then the new heaven and new earth will be ushered in as the old heaven and earth will pass away.

The soul and the spirit are connected, but separable (Hebrews 4:12). The soul is the essence of humanity’s being; it is who we are. The spirit is the aspect of humanity that connects with God. Only those who have faith in Christ are those who are spiritually alive while those with unbelief in Christ are spiritually dead, 1Corinthians 2:11; Hebrews 4:12; James 2:26; Ephesians 2:1-5; Colossians 2:13.

The spirit/breath that is in man is God’s who gave it and will return back to God when this body physically dies as it will be reserved until judgment. Just because a person lives a good life, helps others and seems to be an all around good person whether they are alive or dead when Christ returns will be resurrected unto damnation if they are not Spiritually born again from above, John 3:3-7; Romans 10:9, 10; John 5:28, 29.

Now is the time for repentance as Matthew 24:36 says that no one knows when Jesus will return, not even himself or the angels, but God alone knows when. It could be in our lifetime, but if not one must also be prepared before the grave.

John 5:22-30; Rev 14:14-20; Revelation 20:1-15

Most people believe we are NOT put in a box.
One is either placed in a coffin or in a urn if they are cremated. Why would, as you say, most people believe we are not put in a box and who are these people.

Most people believe the body is a shell housing the real person. Something like clothing which is taken off .
These people make up the great majority of Christianity and other religions who hold the same idea.

It definitely is not the flesh that inherits the kingdom of God and will not be raised up when Christ returns. It's our soul that defines who we are in the eyes of God.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

It seems the difference between the flesh and blood body and the resurrected body is blood.
As long as the flesh contains blood it cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
The flesh with the blood is mortal. The flesh that is raised is immortal.

We can only speculated what we will look like when Christ returns other than to know we will be changed like that of Christ glorified body.

Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Php 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

1John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

We humans can't see what lies beyond our death, whether life continues or not. It is so because it's said that the Tree of Life is hidden from us. In modern days we heavily rely on our knowledge to make a judgment on whether we should prepare such a future beyond death. However, human knowlege can never go beyond the point of death (the Tree is hidden from even human science).

God leaves it for us to decide with our own faith. Religious people open themselve to such a possibility, with faith. Atheists close themselves to such a possibility, with equal faith. They however don't know what they are doing. They are waiting on "evidence" of science (fruit from the Tree) to make a decision, unawarely ignoring the fact that life continues or not is never reachable by our science. So they are waiting something which we all know for sure it will never come, in order for them to make up their own mind.

That's how the crafty snake keeps them on the Tree of Knowledge, while the Tree of Life is hidden from us.

Alex Thomas said,
"I am a transgender person and I’m genuinly wondering what will happen to me when I pass."[/QUOTE\]

Genesis 3:17-19 God says to Adam, "Because you listened to your wife’s voice and ate from the tree concerning which I gave you this command, ‘You must not eat from it,’ cursed is the ground on your account. In pain you will eat its produce all the days of your life. It will grow thorns and thistles for you, and you must eat the vegetation of the field. In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”

At Genesis 2: 15, 16 it says, "Jehovah God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eʹden to cultivate it and to take care of it. Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”

So when God said what he said to Adam at Genesis 3:17-19 Adam was going to die and go back to the ground from which he was taken.

Since Genesis 2:7 shows that human beings are living souls instead of having living souls, when the breath of life leaves the human body we cease being living souls(living beings)

So when you pass you will be dead until the resurrection, once the resurrection begins and God has judged you worthy of a resurrection the body he will give you is the body he has judged you worthy to have, the body that pleases him.

The only hope human beings have after we pass away is if God judges us worthy of a resurrection, which is a standing up from death back to life.

When the resurrection begins God will give the persons resurrected a suitable body. God through the apostle Paul gave an illustration to show that God would not need to bring back the same body the human being had before he/she died. Think of a "bare grain," or a plant "seed." A seed of grain that is planted in the ground germinates and becomes a new plant. The new plant is quite different from the small seed. God through the apostle Paul used this comparison to show that he can provide "a body just as it [pleases] him." (1 Corinthians 15:36-38)

When someone dies, they are buried in a grave, or cremated.
There might be a few other options.
Some years back Dean Braxton came to my workplace with the consent of my agnostic boss to tell my boss about Dean's experience of going to heaven and coming back. First there was darkness, then he met Christ and found a peace that Dean didn't want to leave. It took Christ 3 times (God is patient with us) to tell Dean he had to go back before he actually did. Dean told us that in heaven you can do what you enjoyed most on this earth, forever. But that is third-person witness. So here's this:

In 2018 I was minutes away from death. In the ICU after a successful life-saving operation God gave me a song (I'm a musician). In the days that followed God showed me some things about both heaven and earth. One of those things was a lesbian couple both of whom had accepted Christ.

What this tells me is that what I believed to be true actually is true. God is Spirit. His concern is the state of your soul, not your gender preference on this earth. Whether you follow Christ or choose not to instead of what you do in the privacy of your home.

That said, God created male and female. Nothing else. To do otherwise in my opinion rejects the plan for humanity that God intended. However, I know this for sure. We are all judged for our sin or our repentance of that sin regardless and that this fact is true for everyone on the planet .God is not a respecter of persons. He does not discriminate among humans like we do. And I am thankful for that.

If I sin and don't repent of that sin then I burn just like those who are lost and could care less what they do or don't do in this life. The lost do not understand that their belief or disbelief is not what determines their eternal fate. What they say and what they do will be judged, whether they know it or not. Because God's Law is not subject to appeal by any human.

Bottom line: If you don't have Christ as your defense attorney when the time comes, you're done. Forever.

Thank you for your patience with this post because what you asked is very close to my heart. It can literally be the difference between eternal death and eternal life for your soul.
