41) Cold or Hot Anger?

  • In Joshua 7, we are told about a new problem!
  • Jericho was destroyed and everything in the city had been devoted to destruction!
  • But a man named Achan took something which was devoted to destruction!
  • As a consequence, Yah.weh was angry at the israelites!
  • Then the Israelites went to destroy the city of Ai!
  • But they lost and had to flee!
  • And it happened because of Achan’s action!
  • Because of what happened to Israel, they stoned Achan and his family!

Where in the Bible does it say that everything Christ did and taught, or everything we are to believe is restricted to the Bible. (read John 21:25, that says that not everything Christ did and taught is in the Bible. Yet Matt. 28:20 has Christ commanding the Apostles to teach all that He taught them. In fact, the New Testament wasn't decided until the late 4th century, when the Catholic Church went through over 300+ documents, praying to the Holy Spirit for guidance, and coming up with the 27 books we all agree on are the New Testament.

Christ didn't write a book to spread His truths, He founded a (one) Church, the Catholic Church, to do so. It would have been useless to found a Church based on a book, since the vast, vast majority of humanity was illiterate for the first 18+ centuries of Christianity. That would have effectively eliminated 95+% of humanity from learning Christ's message.

You might also review 2 Peter 1:20-21, where St. Peter warns against personal interpretation of Scripture.

Where does it say Bible alone?
Or that scripture is not part of tradition?

Thanks

Researchers have analyzed 18 ancient texts dating back to around 600 BCE from the Tel Arad military post using state-of-the-art image processing, machine learning technologies, and the expertise of a senior handwriting examiner, and concluded that the texts were written by no fewer than 12 authors, suggesting that many of the inhabitants of the kingdom of Judah during that period were able to read and write.

- According to the Law of Moses, it was an obligation for parents to teach their children about Yah.weh!

- But corruption spread everywhere!

- And illiteracy was part of the process!

- Thus a minority could teach what they wanted to the people who were illiterate!

- That's also why they prevented people from translating the Bible into the languages people could read and understand by themselves!

- Have a look at Matthew 15!

- Think about the different talmuds who deal with man's tradition!

- It became more important than the Bible itself!

- And then again books written by religious leaders!

What is the Bible about?
God creating mankind in His likeness and imagine, giving him free choice to know, honor and obey Him and to be blessed... or to reject, disobey and be placed from the presence of God in shame.

Because Adam chose disobedience and fell from the grace and right standing with God, mankind is in a fallen state. God set in motion the plan of redemption, promising the Redeemer of mankind in Genesis 3 with "The seed of the woman". (Jesus)

God making covenant with Abraham promised that through his "seed" which would be Christ, All nations of the Earth would be blessed, and those who by faith, believe in this Redeemer (Jesus) would be justified by grace through faith.

In the fullness of time, God sent His Son (Jesus) born of a woman: "the seed of the woman" to be the propitiation for the sins of the world. He came, walked among man, laid down his life, was crucified and raised to life and ascended back into heaven, where he sits at the right hand of The Father interceding for the saints upon the Earth.

His church has been commissioned with sharing the testimony of the gospel Of The Lord Jesus, awaiting His return to gather them home to be with Him forever more.

After He gathers His own, there will be 7 final years of judgment upon those who have rejected the gospel ending with Christ coming to rule and reign for 1000 years upon the Earth, concluding with a new heaven and a new Earth where only righteousness will dwell for eternity.

From Genesis to Revelation the Bible is God's Glory proclaimed through creation, promise, provision, patience, miraculous displays of power, Holiness, Righteous indignation, Love, Tender mercies but FULLY displayed in The Person and Revelation of The Lord Jesus Christ, "the express image and representation of God" One cannot read this book and not see Him!

The Alpha and Omega, The Almighty, Our Soon Coming King! Conquerer of death, hell and the grave! King of Kings and Lord of Lords! The One who loved us and laid down His life for us! Worthy is the Lamb who purchased men for God! Before Him Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is LORD to The Glory of God Our Father!
Hallelujah!

For that it is necessary to know the meaning of God's name and that's the God of the promise or of promises!
Not according to Jesus. In Matthew 25, He makes it clear what will determine if you go with Him or with the devil and his angels. Knowing names is not part of it. Worth reading. And then there's this:

Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said to him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind. 38 This is the greatest and the first commandment. 39 And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments dependeth the whole law and the prophets.

Get that right, and you won't go wrong.

The entire new covenant is based upon being born again, of the Spirit of God. God indwelling the believer, we are the temple of God. In Him we live and move and have our being. Now being a new creation we follow Him, fellowship with Him and abide in Him. His words are written upon the heart and we have discernment because of The Spirit. You must be born again is the command from The Lord...from this new creation, loving and obedience now flow from the heart and not keeping of the law by the human flesh efforts, which cannot justify. The law is Holy but justification comes by faith in Christ who was the fulfillment of the law.

It's All about the name Jesus:
Acts 2
5 The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is

“‘the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.’[a]

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved"
No other name by which we must be saved.

- God's name should be a priority for every Christian!
- Of course, the Jewish religious leaders hid it!
- Thus they put titles instead of God's name in the first part of the Bible!
- Then it was the same when the whole Bible was translated!
- But it is absolutely no excuse!
- Corruption is no excuse!

Well I honor what God says in Philippians 2
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Gives God Glory.
The Name above all Names.
It is to be praised.
