What is doctrine?

Here's a tough question, What is doctrine, and what Doctrines should any christian believe?

Well i would argue that scripture and doctrine are seperate things. Scripture being God inspired and Doctrine being a man inspired work about a scriptures or scriptures. And although many dotrines contain good ideas, i avoid following anything that needs explination beyond what the Bible says. To some, doctrine is an expansion pack to the scripture, but i'm still sold on the original

A good point. Doctrine must be rooted in scripture, not held as equal. I would not go as far as to say it needs to be surface level to be doctrine, but it needs to be clearly based on scripture.
