"not of yourselves;"
"it is the gift of God,"
"not of works"
Ephesians 2:8-9 or by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
The theological term is 'sola fide'

Looks like faith must also have grace.
Faith alone is a myth.
It's impossible to separate faith from grace, because faith is part of grace.
Which is why justification is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. When someone simply says "by faith alone," they are referring to the full meaning. So, that is your misunderstanding. Both "grace alone" and "faith alone" oppose the unbiblical, false gospel idea of justification by works.Looks like faith must also have grace.
Faith alone is a myth.
"Man-made terms" to describe exactly what we see in Scripture. If you oppose justification by grace alone through faith alone, your only option is the false gospel of justification by works--that is the doctrine of deceit. That justification is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone is basic Christianity and a central tenet of the faith. Therefore faith alone and grace alone are man made terms designed to prop up a man made doctrine of deceit.

How about responding with something of substance that shows you’ve ever even thought through these things, or asking questions for what you don’t understand, rather than just throwing out a lame response that does nothing to advance the discussion?Sounds like word salad alone.

Since we agree, then you just might be right that I don’t understand. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8
Grace through faith.
Not Grace alone.
Not faith alone.
Nothing to discuss. You obviously don’t understand the principle or law of faith.
JBLI know and have taught for many years the principle of faith.
Faith all by itself (alone) is dead.
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:17
The actual scripture in Ephesians plainly says …
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8
Grace through faith.
Not Grace alone.

Nothing to discuss. You obviously don’t understand the principle or law of faith.

Saved. It's passed tense.
Once one has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, it's passed tense. You are in Christ and justified by what Jesus did.
James 2:17 is speaking of the fruit of the Spirit. Evidence of someone already justified. Paul agrees and says to check ourselves daily to see whether we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5). Evidence.
Paul says in Galatians 2: 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
James says In James 2:10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

Hi JI really don’t know what point you are making.
I was discussing the principle of faith.

The scripture that you quoted. Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God" Emphasis on "have been".
If your works were included, it would be "are being saved".
I do not believe we are saved by works but we are saved by grace through faith.
However, understanding what grace is and how the principle of faith operates are important.
Amen. As long as our understanding of grace is correct, then our understanding of works can be properly understood. Grace just means an undeserved gift. If grace cost anything it would no longer be grace.
