What is God's opinion on swingers or multiple partners

The Bible does not speak to specific acts, just that it remain between a husband and wife. david had lots of wives. I know you will say adultrey and fornication are "acts", but adultrey would necessarily require a lack of consent. If a Christian views a third party as a tool for physical gratification, and the spouse has consented, one could make the argument....

I am not advocating doing it - but I have been with other men while my husband watched. We are both confessed, saved evangelical Christians, happily married, wonderful family, not interested in leaving one another, just got interested in what it would be like.

The only guilt or conviction is to carnality and purity - meaning that when one pursues such worldly hedonistic endeavors, you are obviously not focused on your savior, family, love whatever.

But I would caution in condemning people to Hell. Our personal prayer life and worship life did not stop or get suspended, we did not stop sending our kids to Christian school, and no one is interested in filing divorce papers in our household. Addiction and carnality could be sources of conviction, but the act itself between consenting adults does not neceesarily constitute eternal damnation.

I await the feedback! :)

You are lying to yourself, rationalizing away carnality, and the lack of godly purity in the marriage bed.

Any extra-marital sexual activity, or even the thought of wanting it is called---adultery. That is a sin, and Christians should know this stuff.

I agree. I cannot fathom how we have raised a generation of Christians who seem to be so confused on something as clear-cut as this. :shame

Here are some of the reasons why it should be fathomed -

many Christian denominations accept women as ministers (I do not agree with that)

many denominations have accepted homosexuality (I defintely do not agree with that)

Many Christian faiths believe there is a pre-destined "elect" that get into heaven.

Some Christian faiths believe you must have good works to be saved.

The Bible is clear on adultrey and fornication. I do not fornicate. I am merely getting on this topic because I noticed it and I had something to say since I have done it. To me and my husband, adulterey requires a lack of consent. We had consent.

I know independent fundamentalists will question my salvation, but I much prefer our choices, than the Pastor who cheats on his wife, the board member who swears and drinks regularly, or the pious who tell someone with long hair or who smokes they can't come to their church.

Adultery does not require lack of consent or that would be rape. What you have done is rationalized sin. Adultery is sexual activity between people who are not married to one another. On top of that sin, add fornication, and you've got a real problem.

People who know Jesus and say they walk with Him do not argue this stuff. They know just as all Christians know that his is a sin and cannot be rationalized away. There is obviously a sexual stronghold there and I would advise you both to see someone for help in getting freedom in Christ.

The Bible is clear that adulterers will not see the Kingdom of God, and that should at least generate enough fear of God in you to flee this behaviour, repent and come back to the Lord, who calls you to holiness.

Ephesians 4:21-24 NLT
21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

let me get this straight, its not adultery if i give my wife permission to make love to another man????

uh hello, she still is having sex with another man that isnt me!

she aint married to him but me. thus that is adultery according the bible.

sin justification indeed.

I am not trying to change your mind, so this is my last post on the subject I think, I am just trying to have a discussion. But the definition of adultrey is infidelity in the marriage. Infidelity requires a violation of trust, which does not exist with spousal consent.

All sin doesn't enter the kingdom of heaven, but if I steal a cookie and do not ask forgiveness, do I go to hell. I've got the fundamentalist position on scripture, I understand your argument.

I think the bottom line is, if you did it once and realized it is sin, repented and asked for forgiveness, you are forgiven!
BUT!, if you are continuing to sin in this matter after realizing that it is sin, then there WAS NO REPENTANCE! The word repent is a nautical term: it means to turn 180 degrees. When a captain saw danger ahead and wanted the ship to go the other way, he would yell out "REPENT!". When we sin, God is yelling to his crew (believers) "REPENT!". He desires us to turn 180 degrees and STOP doing what we are doing, and get back in fellowship with him (1 John 1:9). Personally, I would not want to be in an act of sin when the Rapture occurs. Jesus could return to Rapture his Church at any moment, and we should all be ready at all times.
I think the answer to your original question is pretty clear from God's Word.

Amen.

Where there is no godly sorrow or repentance, we must question salvation.

To me and my husband, adulterey requires a lack of consent. We had consent.

Redefining adultery so that sinful behavior is OK isn't really going to fly you know. There is nothing in the Scriptures or in Webster's for that matter about adultery requiring a lack of consent. Adultery is having sex with someone other than one's spouse. Period.

If you want to try to continue to justify your definition, by all means, give some scripture and we can look at it. However, you might want to prayerfully consider 1 Corinthians 7:1-5 which specifically deals with sexual issues and the fact that God gives us marriage so that we do not commit sexually immoral acts. And, pay close attention to verse 2 which states clearly that each (singular) man is to have his own wife and each woman is to have her own husband. There really isn't room for anymore in that.

I know independent fundamentalists will question my salvation, but I much prefer our choices, than the Pastor who cheats on his wife, the board member who swears and drinks regularly, or the pious who tell someone with long hair or who smokes they can't come to their church.
You are still making this out like you get to define what is OK and what isn't OK. Not so, my friend. God is the ONLY arbiter of what is sin and what isn't. It matters not that others sin...as a matter of fact, I can assure you that others sin, they do it all the time. And, they will be judged for it, as will you for this particular sin, unless you repent and stop trying to justify this kind of behavior.

Rather than leave it to the "fundamentalists" to question your salvation, you should prayerfully examine your own salvation, as all of us should do at times. Prayerfully consider this passage in 2 Corinthians 13:
2I have previously said when present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that if I come again I will not spare anyone, 3since you are seeking for proof of the Christ who speaks in me, and who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.
4For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God For we also are weak in Him, yet we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.
5Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test?
6But I trust that you will realize that we ourselves do not fail the test.
7Now we pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, even though we may appear unapproved.

I fear that not only are you engaged in something that is unhealthy for your marriage, you are definitely engaged in something that is unhealthy for your soul as well. Call me a fundamentalist, or anything else you like, but I do hope that you will listen and take heed.

Well, pertaining to the OP and the title, I have to say that God does not have opinions. He spoke and the worlds came into being, so what He says goes.

Now that we cleared that up, one merely has to look at the Law of God regarding sexual behavior. No, it does not endorse swingers or multiple partners. If one feels they have to engage in this behavior to spare themselves of further temptation, then there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

However, I agree I won't make it a salvation issue, as even ol' Abraham had several wives. Instead, God chosen the genealogy of the promises in spite of the other wives.

I had a very big problem with multiple partners, it would always be me and 1 or 2 or 3 women doing cocaine and having sex. I was cheating on my wife, well I did that on both of my wives, I have been married twice. Starting out at the age of 12 and having intercourse with a 17 year old girl hooked me for years to come. Not bragging but I have had sex with so many women until I can't remember them, I have had women tell me that I was with them, but i could not remember them. I have had women say to me oh' I have heard about you. It was because I was so wild and out of control, and the drugs would make me act out sexually. I would never act out unless I was doing speed or cocaine, alcohol, and I would use it as leverage to have sex with drug addicted women, as long as I had the drugs I had power, and I used it for years and years to the max. Even after I was saved I could not stop. I saw a post in this topic where a girl said she had 35 partners in her life, I went at least a few hundred might be more I don't know. It had got to the point where every time I did drugs I had to have a female, and I did drugs mostly every day. Then I started to feel trapped, I started to feel dread after each sexual escapade was over, I started think about God and my wife. I just got plain tired of that life I did not like who I was. So one day God to cigarettes, drugs, alcohol and women all away in one day, and I have not did that stuff since. Yes my mind goes back there sometime, but I know today that I don't have to act on it and give the devil all that power. I don't own any more porn books or movies, I don't watch the stuff, anymore. I don't put myself in those situations anymore. The Bibles tells you to flee such situations, here in Philadelphia sex is easy to come by if you have money or drugs. I could take drugs and go get all kinds of women to do what I want, and God knew I was that way so He took my taste for drugs away. Because that is the only time that I acted out. He took my taste for alcohol away because every time I drank I needed drugs. I was trapped and now it is over. I thank God that I did not get HIV I gave both wives chlamydia though, I thank God that that stuff is a thing of the past. Now I use my past to teach others, God took a bad thing, and is now using it to win souls.I hope someone reads this and finds out that they could overcome sex addiction or active sex addiction by coming to Jesus. Sometimes it may take a while like it did for me, but God look down and saw that I was on my last leg, and He reached down and extended His hand and pulled me up out of the muck and miry clay.

I knew a guy who was friends with a married couple that were swingers. My friend started having sex with the wife and had permission from her husband. The husband was sleeping with another girl and decided to leave his wife for her. My friend remained dating the wife. Today my friend confided that she is cheating on him with another guy. So a marriage has been destroyed because people can not commit to a monogamous relationship. My friend hopefully learned a good lesson from his experience. I would avoid swinging, for your own health and hearts sake!
