So, not even ONE Christian-oriented movie is in the list of the favorites of professed Christians? Hmmm . . .speaks a lot for the influence of the world.

My favorite? Ben Hur. That's the movie that inspired me in a spiritual way some 25 years before I even had a spark of interest for Christianity.

The Matrix has a spiritual meaning. The Lord actually gave me a revelation using the movie the Matrix. It has a lot of scriptual undertones and speaks a lot about faith and belief.

SputnikBoy you really need to stop judging people so harshly my friend :)

It was hardly judging. It was an observation.

Well the observation was based on ignorance :)

And yes I believe that it was a judgement - but I can understand why you would deny that it was.

Wow, I totally forgot Lord of the Rings(all 3)...I can now change my mind a decide definatively those are my favorite movies of all time.
Another 2 I thought of are Platoon and Full metal Jacket, that now makes my top 10 complete.

Thinkerman, I think we have similar tastes in movies...Tommy Boy...I have seen it at least 50 times... :-D
Unforgiven is in my top 15 or 20.

I said that it was 'hardly' judgmental ...just a smidgin' ... :)

Someone already mentioned The Matrix ;) I have to agree! The Matrix rules!

Ditto. But I do love the second in the series. I went and bought the used VHS tape for 5 bucks at blockbuster and watch it every now and then. Cool.

hehehe,

The matrix is total Gnosticism and Cartesian dualism just so fundies that choose it know......

Not that "I" think that is all bad.....

Here is my favorite movie of all time.......

Go rent it!!!!!

Lucky for me - it was God who showed me what I needed to know in it ;)

Actually I saw a bit of calvinism in it too - ha ha

I really dont see how you got Calvinism out of that movie but fair enough....... :-?

The Matrix is very antagonistic to establishment and organized religious ideology..... It does not seem to promote strict adherance to dogmatic assertions like Calvanism promotes, but rather freethinking and eastern concepts of material illusion.....

But thats just me....

I have never even seen any of the Matrix movies. Maybe I should watch them sometime...

Make sure you watch them in order because the first one explains the whole thing.

id have to say pretty much any comedy movie.

ESPECIALLY Office Space.

the best non comedy is by far Pink Floyd ~ The wall~

and the best horror is Stephen Kings Storm of the century

I'm going to say Matrix was very good in an entertaining way, but its a bit of a stretch to try and learn moral relavance from it. It is a hoshposh of pseudoreligious and philisophical "stuff", but a good action movie. The third one was good, but boo to the second one. :sad

I would have to say The Patriot. 8-)

That is definetly one of my favorites.

"Aim small miss small".

That is gun control! :D

My favorite movie is "The Outlaw Josey Wales" starring Clint Eastwood.

"Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy!"

That's a tough one.

I would have to say 'Halloween'

'The Ghost and the Darkness' with Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas ranks up there too as does 'The Patriot', 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Crimson Tide' with Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington.

Ooh! And 'We Were Soldiers' with Mel Gibson (That movie definitely didn't get the recognition it deserved)

Ooh! And the first "Lethal Weapon"

Ooh! And.....

"Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy!"

Yep-I reckon so. One of my top ten favorites also. One of my favorite parts was when he used that big Sharps rifle to create the "Missouri boat ride".

Right up there with the westerns is "Once Upon A Time in the West" Great movie, lots of stars and great action. Almost surpasses "The Lone Riders".

I still like "The Ten Commandments". Saw it first in Germany in 1966 and never got over Moses parting the Red Sea. Never had seen anything like that in a flick before. I bought the DVD some while back.

Being mostlly a Westen fan, I rank "Tombstone" right up there as well. Val Kilmer was great as Doc Holiday.
