What is your church like?

We are one of the many Lutheran church congregations that have recently elected to leave the ranks of the ELCA. Our goal right now is to seek out another synod we believe adheres more closely to biblical truth that we can fellowship with.
Have you considered the LCMS? I won't take offense if you have and found it's not for you.

I like what you say about putting into church as opposed to the expectation of getting something out. We do receive abundantly when we focus our hearts on Christ when in church, don't get me wrong. But if we sit latently in the pews and expect something to happen without investing ourselves and focusing our hearts, it will be no more inspirational than a trip to Walmart. Well, maybe it will be, but it will be shallow and temporal, and it will dissipate on your drive home. That's my frustration with people who complain about the services. It's about Him, not us.

I thought it might be interesting to see what everyone's churches are like. Is your church good? what is your denomination.

I love mine it is fun It is lively and has a good feel. I really like mine though I have not been there long. It is pentecostal. it has really nice people. :)
here is the website of mine.

Welcome to Church 180, Newcastle Australia

I am a United Methodist.

We have a very friendly pastor.

I would say we are quite a musical church.

I would say we have a very friendly congregation.

Thank you for your suggestion. LCMS is one of the options we have been considering. LCMC is another.

We've decided to remain independent for the time being but myself along with others are trying to make sure we don't get lazy. Our concern is that like we as individuals should seek fellowship among other believers we also believe our congregation should do likewise. It's a means of accountability.

Interesting... You compelled me to do some review. I'd never known anything about the LCMC. I was only knowledgeable of the WELS, LCMS & ELCA. Personally, I find it tragic to see the changes in the ELCA. :sad Denying the inerrancy of the Bible, wavering on the Trinity... :shame2:pray:pray:pray

But, I don't want to hijack this thread with Lutheran talk. :lol Blessings in your decision.

God blessed us with 105 in church this morning, in three services. We had 32 kids on our 18-passenger van.
