What is your favorite book of the bible?

Don't really have one favorite, but I would say the book of Job ranks up there at the top. It encompasses almost every Biblical theme you can think of, and shows us exactly how we should reflect on God through reasoned discussion with faithful friends.

Hannah:

Yes, it's different from a lot of other Bible books. But there is so much wisdom there; and I like how the references to wisdom in Proverbs 8 seem to personify the Lord Jesus, if you read carefully.

Blessings.

Proverbs is among my favorite books, for that reason. I love the wisdom that is in there. Also the Proverb 31 woman is my role model, so I like to reread about her often.

Amy:

Yes, it's a very instructive and encouraging passage, and I can quite imagine the 'traditional' lady in your avatar modeling herself on Proverbs 31, as well.

Blessings.

Hard choice, there were just so many...
Old Testament:
Daniel - I've always been memorized by how he continued to serve God and held strongly to his faith despite being surrounded by unbelievers.
Job - Reminds me that despite not being able to feel God in suffering, He is still Sovereign and in control of the situation.

New Testament:
Romans - It helped me to understand more about salvation.
Philippians - Reminds me to be joyful in all circumstances and to keep going in this life.

I think it's great that so many people have Ecclesiastes at the top of their list. I find it fascinating. My favorite, at the moment, is probably Job though. I've learned so much from it over the past 6 months and hope to continue learning from it.

Hi, my answer would probably be not too different!

Romans

it seems to be the culmination of all pauls' writings which are my favorites

I love them all equally. :yes

God's Word is strategically intertwined like a perfect patchwork quilt; all equal in truth, and each book complementing, and in perfect agreement with all the others !

Three of them

Genesis....tells me how it started.

Ecclesiastes....tells me how it is.

Revelation....tells me how it will end.

Love them all as really can't pick a favorite. But love the Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and Revelation!

I like the love of 1 John
I Like pretty much every book I've read so far.

That reminds me, I need to get back in to revelation.

Eventually I'm going to try and study Revelation, Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Zechariah side by side, reading a few chapters each every day until I'm done.

Prophecy is beautiful.

I've always been fond of Matthew. Matter-of-fact, but wise and full of the Lord's Spirit.

Philippians is my favorite book. It is full of inspiring scripture for me!!! Of course, the entire Bible has inspiring scripture. I just tend to use the scriptures in Philippians to my life. My favorite is Phil. 4:13...I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength!!!!!!

I was just going to put a comment about Philippians, too! :)

Blessings.

Since I love the story of Noah and the ark, I say Genesis is my fave book.

They sometimes call Genesis the seed-plot of Scripture.

So many subsequent themes all trace back to the book of beginnings.
