which math classes did you take , and please note this is general as i know that calculus has many branches.
i took business calculus, and is very condensed.

3 in 1 = gun oil :shame
anyway, I took several from the list, not saying I can still work the formulas but honest I did take them :shrug

none. In the last two years of school here maths is not compulsary (only English). So I dropped it as soon as I could because I hate it, don't need it and wasn't good at it. I now do possibly the best subject EVER in its place...Modern History. :thumb

I did the whole progression from jr high pre-algebra, algebra I, geometry, algebra II and trig. Never went to college and trig was the highest math they offered at my school. I REALLY want to know more about calculus now. It's my latest fascination : )

any of the engineers and or physicists or anyone had to take college level physics can help.

Excellent! For the first time in 20 years, my math major comes in handy! :bounce

I went through a lot of Theoretical Math and OP Math, did the Adv. Dirvs and Calculus, but to this day, I think the hardest math for me to get my hands around was simple Jr. High Algebra! So many rules to remember, and the problems are always changing. The higher I went, it seemed to get more logical and easier. Calc has a few rules that run through it as does Trig.

I love math!! But the funny thing, you get out of college with a B.S. in Math, and you tell people who are hiring, and you get one big collective YAWN. Unless you want to go on for your Masters and teach, and I didn't want to teach. I went on for my MBA, which was as boring as anything could be.

the calculus i took was much as easier then any algrebra class as you didnt simplify the equations, just used them!

pre. alg., alg., geometry, alg. 2, precalc. trig.

That was high school/7th and 8th grade. Taking pre-calc again next year because its a easy math credit and I only need math for the gen-ed requirement :thumb Probably do calc maybe go a little beyond it and then give up. I'd like to take an advanced geometry, though because I am really good at geometry and its actually fun :shrug

There were some students in college that we so geeky about math. They had their Pi Club and wore Pi shirts with jokes only math majors would understand and took it to an extreme. I did find math interesting, especially in the area of theoretical math :chin , but it was enough to do my homework. I didn't feel the need to join a club about it. :lol :screwloose

I'd be a terrible teacher though. When I try to help my kids, I just want to say, "It's right there! How can you not see it?!! :lol

i have turtored before, it comes back once i start doing it again.

i do find it irritating that with all the math that an engineer does, seldom does he use thanks to the cads system. in the 50 and 60's you used the slide rule and had to do the calculations by hand and look at what they built then, the sr71 black bird, the u2, and we went to the moon!

This is a funny story that might not come off as funny in print. I was at a drive thru once and my total came to something like $3.40. Apparently there was a glitch with their register, so the girl had to actually try to think. ;) I gave her $10.50. She looked at the money and back at me and said, "It's only $3.40." I said I knew; just run it through. She closed the window, and I could see she was just dumbfounded. Then I could see a manager come over, and she was pointing at me, showing him the money and the total.

The manager opened the window and said, "Sir, your total's only $3.40." :toofunny :wall :toofunny :wall

I LOVE theoretical mathematics. I understand the concepts, I just need help knowing the definitions of different variables (not their values obviously, lol, you don't know that til you finish!) in an equation etc to work one out. Maybe you and I can chat sometime Mike. I would love that!

its logic, thats why btw music is logarithim function and i see the brilliance of god in the order of math.
It's great that God gave us maths and science for that matter. I just don't have that sort of mind. But I've been playing music for about 10 years...go figure.

i could say the same with music, ironic, i have the ear but not the desire to play, though i have.

art as in scuplting and or painting, blah.

man, i have the ear AND a desire to play! Holy Spirit has recently given me several songs, though none are complete yet. good thing the ex gave me that keyboard, lol

but OH how i wish i had other artistic ability!! people who can draw things in detail and paint and so forth fascinate me. i suppose i could learn, but it DOES NOT come naturally! although i've painted a thing or two that wasn't bad before.
