The only work the sheep do is follow the shepherd, many come in his name saying he is Christ, then decieve many. The only thing required of sheep, is to follow. The only thing required of our shepherd is to believe his words, and do as he says to do. He said we ought to, so if we don't believe his words are for us and those words died of generations ago, then we do not follow the things he said we ought to do. If we don't do the things he said then we do not follow, and do not believe his words are true for us.
P.s. Jesus gave us a clean path to walk, in humility we ought to check our feet regularly to make sure we haven't stepped off of that path, because dirty feet are not allowed on that path. It will stay clean, because dirty feet will have no part with him or the path he gives. It is a spiritual thing, just as all the lesson he taught are spiritual things, which carnal men reject, because they cannot understand them
Oh no.Isn't there a long set of stone stairs somewhere in Spain that we are to crawl up on our hands and knees?
Well PZlol there's a lot of truth in that clip.
Hi EugeneHi John Christian. I just emboldened some of your quote to emphasize my question.
What in your opinion is required, for what purpose, and the consequence if not adhered to?
May I also ask what Christian assembly's teachings you subscribe to? Thanks.
Answer: Believe in Jesus

Even the demons believe—and tremble!

hello JLB, dirtfarmer here
What is it that you are alluding to that the demons believe?
Mark 1:24, " Saying, Let us alone; What have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God."
In James 2:19 it is stated: "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe and tremble." We see from these scriptures that that the demons believe in one God, but they know Jesus.
That is true and it can be misleading. To believe his words is all that is required
If you so desire.Isn't there a long set of stone stairs somewhere in Spain that we are to crawl up on our hands and knees?
It is a form of a devotion. It is an opportunity to pray while contemplating the suffering of Christ for our sake. There's a stair like this right here in Italy .
The Scale Santa. The sacred stairs. In Rome. Ive seen person's climb it. They stop on each step to pray.
This is what I call WORK.
hello JLB, dirtfarmer here
What did Jesus say in John 6:29: " Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." Where is feeding the poor, healing the sick, and raising the dead mentioned in this verse?
It is impossible to obey without doing something.Believe on means obey.
Yes exactly.
Believe on means obey.
That is our work.
That is what Abraham did in the example I have from James.
That is why it's called the obedience of faith.
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Romans 16:26
That is our work, to obey our Lord.

It is impossible to obey without doing something.
"Doing" is "working."

hello JLB, dirtfarmer here
In your reference to Romans 16:26 what is made manifest is the mystery, "which was kept secret since the world began", that is mentioned in verse 25 which is the church, the body of Christ
.
1 Jn 4:9 . . . God sent his only begotten Son into the world,
AND
Joh 6:29 . . . This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent.
