I don't 'yahoo', I just 'praise the Lord'
You correctly discerned the most important meaning of the word, Mutz! 8-)
Yes, that double meaning was intentional & 'prayed in' - what
most characterises Pentecostal/Charismatic churches is the spirit of adoration & worship, yes?
Inc dancing to the Lord with all our might, like King David did: despite wifely protests @ Royal dignity he said, "I will become even more undignified than this"
Lemme hear a YEE-HAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!! :multi:
& for readers who think wholehearted praise & worship is unscriptural & irreverent, see Psalm 150
Psalm 150 (New International Version)
1 Praise the LORD. [a]
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the
trumpet,
praise him with the
harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine
and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,
5
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.
& Jesus said the most important commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind & strength - passionately & wholeheartedly
See also Psalm 47:1
Psalm 47:1 (New International Version)
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.
1
Clap your hands, all you nations;
shout to God with cries of joy.
When I was praying last night @ the OP title question, the other
main hallmark of Pentecostal/charismatic churches that came to mind is passion for souls: as so timely expressed in this
Word 4 Today:-

Preach the gospel!
Preach the Gospel!
Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth-- to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water."
Revelation 14:6,7 NIV

NOW I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 NASB

Meditation 12/3 - 12/9: Fight the good fight 2 Tim 4:2-8 CEV
Fight the good fight
To preach God's message. Do it willingly, even if it isn't the popular thing to do. You must correct people and point out their sins. But also cheer them up, and when you instruct them, always be patient.
The time is coming when people won't listen to good teaching. Instead, they will look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are itching to hear. They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to senseless stories.
But you must stay calm and be willing to suffer. You must work hard to tell the good news and to do your job well.
Now the time has come for me to die. My life is like a drink offering being poured out on the altar. I have fought well. I have finished the race, and I have been faithful. So a crown will be given to me for pleasing the Lord.
He judges fairly, and on the day of judgment he will give a crown to me and to everyone else who wants him to appear with power.
2 Timothy 4:2-8 CEV

I have a few emails to clear before I read this whole thread
The main question on my mind is, did anyone see
http://www.elim.org.uk &
http://www.ag.com & read the doctrinal statements with Scriptures for each 1?
How @ the history clicks?
http://www.azusastreet100.net celebrated the centenary of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on a poor, black church - my mum was born in 1906
1904 was the centenary of the great Welsh Revival, which began among poor coal miners - my dad was born in 1904
I'm sure an early post here mentioned John Wesley: he was a tiny, poor Northerner, whose accent was as despised by the educated as was the Galillean accent of Jesus & the 12
Another early post sure tried to imply that Rodney Howard Browne was still the barman he was before he was saved
My hunch is that most of the deliberate distortions in here spring from the same motivations as the Pharisees' continuous plots to destroy the ministry of Jesus - they said He had a devil & was working for, & by the power, of Satan
Did any see John Arnott @ Toronto Vineyard earlier today on Christian TV
His presentational style was very calm & matter-of-fact, explaining why we need to 'humble ourselves before the Lord' a be prepared to be 'fools for Christ'
I've heard & seen Rodney Howard-Browne many times & his style is similar: his outstanding characteristic is that he is unafraid to let God speak & work in the silences - as he often explains
Joel Osteen, of USA's biggest megachurch - 45,000-members - is the classic gentle, friendly Texan: the love of Christ consistently radiates thru him - as does humility
I'll end on 1 Corinthians 1:18-27
God bless!
