What's for Dinner?

LOl Shouldn't surgery recovery food include fluids and soups?

Meat & Potatoes (so, American-or Irish, lol)

no, she had shoulder surgery, and yes i'm half irish as well. i look more irish than jewish.
I will take about two months to recover from the surgery as she had a torn biceps(detached) tendon and rotator cuff. Physical therapy is neccesary but most painful

Kimchi jjigae. Kim. Bab. Or, so one could hope.
u at the korean version of our swamp cabbage, that may smell like dead fish, but its good eatins and it can a bit spicy, havent that in a while was it the real deal or store about, it's called kimchi as in the kimchi squat

Sigh

My kids are at camp all this week, so since tonight was the first night my hubby and I have been at home alone, I thought I'd make a special dinner. On the menu was tilapia fillets, marinated in my own special marinade and grilled. I cut some fresh zucchini out of the garden, sliced it in half length wise, sprayed a little "I can't believe it's not butter spray" and threw that on the grill as well.

The only thing was that I bought the actual fish, not already fillet. I figured, I've fillet trout before so one fish is pretty much the same as another, right?

Wrong. I really mangled the fillets. I mean they tasted good and the zucchini was really good too. But, the whole thing looked a right mess on the plate. Oh well, my hubby and I ate it anyway, and just picked out the bones while we sat on our back porch and enjoyed the peace and quiet of home life without the kids.

That Kimchi stuff isn't funny. Y'all are making fun of Asian people.
it wasnt meant to. kimchi is fermented cabbage either burried at least for six months or put in a jar and on a roof for the same time period or less, btw my wife's grandaughter is part korean, i love kimchi.

Sounds good! Presentation does matter but I think taste comes first!

What's for dinner? Pizza! Started with a store-bought & added fresh mushrooms (fried in secret garlic flavored virgin olive oil) added minced garlic for a 2nd topping and topped that off with mozzarella and Parmesan. Cooked to perfection on a pizza stone. It was still sizzling when I shot the pic. Yum doesn't describe it. Sure, it's bachelor food but it's good bachelor food.

That is one of my favorite foods! So, it's not just for bachelors. That pizza is mouth watering...mmmmm

So much CHEESE :)

Okay, now maybe I'm talking heresy here but you're from the South right?

Tomorrow morning I will have fried pizza for breakfast.
Pan fried on both sides (in just a little butter) - enough to put a crust on the cheese.
Shhhhh... don't tell.

If you've never tried it - maybe just once? But watch out, you could get hooked on fried pizza for breakfast.

I grew up without a microwave or RadarRange as they were called back then, so I'm used to eating cold pizza. I will NOT microwave pizza, I much prefer it cold. However SparHawk, I am going to have to try frying the pizza next time we have left overs, because that sounds really good!

For dinner tonight, again just me and my hubby, I grilled some chicken and slathered my own special Bar-B-Que sauce on it about 8 minutes before it came off the grill. That and some macaroni salad.

One of these days I would dearly like to get a real bar-b-que pit made. We have a simple grill and that is where I do all my cooking during the summer, but it would be wonderful to have actual bar-b-que.

Either way, that bbq chicken sounds good. Sometimes simple grills do the best job.
I had CHINESE. Spring rolls, pan friend dumplings and beef and broccoli. Yummy

What's for dinner tonight? PORKCHOPS!!!

just kidding! :P Sorry, Fembot, I couldn't resist! We're just having leftovers from last night.
