What's your favorite OSAS passage?

Entirely assumption on your part.

I might propose that people who promote possibly burning other believers in eternal fire have themselves been therein tossed to simmer for awhile and they can't see what happened to them, even though that kind of damnation drips from their every pore, along with self justifications as a side attachment.

People might understand that the judgment they heap upon others may very well be used upon themselves.

Nevertheless, in order to keep from falling into that pit personally, I believe such will be saved anyway. They are just temporarily ill.

So you believe in some version of purgatory, a temporary "simmering" in the fire?

The "theology" of Smaller continues...:confused

How is it that we come to be "in Christ"?

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:6

If a person comes to be in Christ, then at some later time, then are disconnected from Him and throw in the fire, are they still somehow "saved', though they have been thrown in the fire and burned?

Not at all. I believe the fires of hell are already on the tongues of those who promote it to other believers.

James 3:6
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

I might think that if you thought this through, you might come to the conclusion that if you expect Jesus to be generous to you, you might learn to be as generous with others in your judgments of them.

I already know that "fallen believers" have temporarily been taken by the god of this world, so there are other sights to see than just the RECAPTURED in that equation. Some believers just can't see it, and only see the person, fallen.

There is another culprit provided by the scriptures. So, maybe turn sights to where they belong?

Turn to the truth of the scripture, which can make a man wise unto salvation.

14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 1 Timothy 3:14-17

and again

20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— 21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. 1 Timothy 6:20-21

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
James 3:6

This says the whole body is set on fire by hell.

The tongues on men are not hell, but will be set on fire by hell.

Do believe in a literal hell, where the wicked will be punished?

‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: Matthew 25:41

The fire is already on the lips of those who spread it. They just don't see it. And can't. They have been effectually blinded to the obvious. You're not God. Things may not be as accurate as you think you see. I can obviously see the texts you quote from Romans 11 for example are ALLEGORIES when it speaks of branches and vines. How do you dissect allegories? Do you have the scriptural method employed that Jesus gave us in Mark 4 to understand "all" allegories employed? I can say unequivocally that's not the case when there are "missing parties" to the equations we have been given by Jesus to understand allegories.

I can say beyond any doubt, from the scriptures, that the devil and his messengers will be in eternal hell, and yes, it's eternal.

Beyond this though there is no reason for me to tread further. And I take this lesson from ancient orthodoxy. You do understand that no fallible human being in ALL of orthodoxy DARES to say any specific person will be in hell. I hope you understand the frailties of sitting in God's Seat, as a mere mortal sinner.

Have some respect for the potential of Overwhelming Grace.

God's Grace is the Holy Spirit, who God gives to us, to empower us to live by overcoming the sin nature that dwells in or flesh, by which we are enticed by it's sinful cravings.

Thank God for His Spirit, the Spirit pf Grace, by which we stand in this present faith.

Just as true is this statement by James...

Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
James 4:4-5

Overcoming sin and lying about having sin/being a sinner in fact are entirely different matters.

There is no overcoming in lying about being a sinner and having sin.

There is overcoming in honesty.
