LOL me either, and I had not had a cupa yet either when I responded. I believe Luke read what others had written about what they had heard and seen but then he did a thorough investigation and made sure that what he wrote would be correct and absolute. Two or three witnesses, etc. From this I would have to assume that the authors of the scriptures did not know that God had given the inspired words that they wrote and would see that they (the inspired words) would be compiled together into what we call the Bible (the Scripture). God is faithful in His care for us. I love how He included this explanation from Luke about his investigation. Thanks for bringing this up I had never thought about this scripture really.
You're welcome. We're all here to share our knowledge and experiences and I know I've walked away in a hissy fit before but I'm learning to pick and choose who and what I respond to now. I'm still learning I agree that I don't believe any writer of any of the Bible knew at the time that's what would happen to it. I love how it's in there too, it shows Luke to be studious and wanting to make sure that what he was passing on was correct and verifiable Paul did something similar, he went back to Jerusalem after 14 years to make sure he was preaching the right gospel, now that's being meticulous!
