I think of the Inquisition.
The law said become Roman Catholic or die.
Many chose to obey God and die.

End your official recognition by the government as clergy....the clergy person is bound to be subject to these laws. However, for the clergy person to marry this couple would mean denying God's premise that marriage is between one man and one woman. Which is the correct choice for this clergy person to make?
in jewish thought even at the time of Christ a man was a man at age 13 after he recited his torah. is that what we should do? not that 18 makes on mature or that its based on science. The marriage issue is an example of a choice: following what is known in the heart as God's Will over man's wishes. It really doesn't matter if those wishes are voted on or made official or just overt. Consider the mundane choice. Our government calls children over eighteen years of age "consenting adults".
the idea of an 18 year old as an adult is less then a century old. in the both the Greco-Roman world and the jewish nation boys were men at age 13, they couldn't vote and decide important matters thus they had limited rights and didn't earn full rights until parenthood or 30.Jason? I don't know how to respond to some of your statements. Pardon me.
the comment you made was about what is an adult in the eyes of god. see post 25. the fact is that in town with the famous hunt vs smith case, the lesbian teen/adult relationship was indeed ok in some eyes in that the teenage year of 14 is the age of consent to some. in the roman days boys were allowed to be lovers of men at that age. that is what paul is damning in romans 1. now then. carry on. pedastery will come in some form after polyamory and legalized prostutionOkay, I have no doubt that what you are saying is fact but difficult is encountered when I try to tie what you're saying back into the conversation that WIP's question concerned itself over. The moral dilemma that arises while considering following Governmental Authority or not especially when there are no clear and distinct lines drawn.
Sometimes it is indeed a slippery slope.
