When the Church gets it right....

An atheist activist, Patrick Greene has become a Christian. He was threatening to bring lawsuits against Henderson County, TX over a nativity. Instead, he was diagnosed with an eye disease. He withdrew the threat of lawsuits to deal with the impact of going blind.

However, one of the Christians in the town of Athens, TX took to heart what Jesus said about loving one's enemies. She convinced her pastor that the church needed to reach out and help Greene with medical expenses and they raised thousands of dollars for him.

"...when the Christians in a town that had reason to be angry with him showed him a gesture of love, he began reconsidering his beliefs altogether. He eventually began to realize that evolution would never have the answer to his questions, he says, and it was at that time he began to believe in God."

This is what can happen when we get it right. I heard on Fox news that Greene is considering going into the ministry.

This is an interesting story. And his wife continues to hold to her atheistic beliefs. How would that go as a pastor? It is great that he was brought to faith, and I'd like to make this about the woman and church that caused him to reconsider his beliefs. If it becomes about him, then I'd have to wonder about the doctrine he holds to now that he believes. I'm not one to obsess with this topic, but there is the thing about the church he'd like to start up. That's all I'll say about that.

Good for her and that church. :)
