Science, as we know it today, was mostly the invention of the Ionian Greek philosophers, who emphasized observation and testing to learn about the world.
The fact that God created an orderly universe from which all other created things emerged as He intended, is the reason science is so successful.
Science goes back to Abraham and Moses. Esp Moses was a civil engineer that was way ahead of his time. The people who followed his teachings did not have any problems with the black plague.

Only partially correct, the Greeks built on knowledge from babylonia Persian etc and were instrumental in formulating the rules of logical reasoning, but they like the Egyptians, Chinese, Persians etc were limited by a belief in magic and the fear that to investigate to much would anger the gods.
It was Christians who built on Greek reasoning and the passing on of eastern maths and harnessed the Christian idea of a consistent and understandable creation that God delighted in our understanding and learning of creation, that enabled the science we love to flourish.
This same science that stands on solid Christian ideas would not have developed without Christianity and it is to the shame of their reasoning that they do not see this and are so hostile towards Christianity.
The oral tradition goes back to Abraham and Moses. They were highly educated in their day. Abraham destroyed his father's idols. Yes, he was known for crossing the Euphrates River, but he was also known for not worshiping the false gods.

Not just the oral tradition, even in genesis we can see that there were written records of family lines.
Abraham came from one of the chief cultures of his day, they had writing and it is reasonable to assume that Abraham could read and write.
Ditto Moses, we don't need to worry about oral traditions as we have a written account of those days.
Moses according to scholars took what was written on clay tablets and wrote on Papyrus Scrolls. Even at the time of Jesus they would read the scrolls. People did not have their own copy. Every scroll was copied by hand, making them rare and expensive. It was not until the printing press that people had their own Bible.
Abraham likely lived in a highly literate society. Ur of the Chaldees, where he came from, was a major Sumerian city with a well-developed system of writing. Archaeological discoveries show that schools existed in Ur, where students learned writing, arithmetic, and grammar.
Writing Methods in Abraham’s Time
Cuneiform Script – The primary writing system used in Ur was cuneiform, a wedge-shaped script written on clay tablets.
Scribes & Education – Schools trained scribes to read and write, and records show lessons in multiplication, division, square roots, and geometry.
Legal & Business Documents – Cuneiform was used for contracts, trade records, religious texts, and laws.
Given the advanced education system in Ur, it’s possible that Abraham could read and write, or at least was familiar with written records.
