Peter chapter 1:19. Jesus went to hell, called sheol or Hades. Its holding place for the spirtualty dead or wicked. Jesus spent 3 days preaching. Those who died before Jesus was crucified, didn't have prayer at grace. So Jesus is Fair. Hebrews chapter 1, Jesus then went to sit at right hand of Godhead. Jesus is high priest and mediator for Christians.

I disagree. Death and life are opposite not the same. If you're dead, then you are not conscious, so you can't, talk, feel, see, think. These are things you experience if you're alive, or have life. So Jesus wasn't alive for three days in Hell called Sheol, and Hades, he was dead. Hell called Sheol and Hades isn't a place to hold the spiritually dead, because the dead no longer have breath or spirit.
1 Peter 3:18, 19 says in The New English Bible of 1961: "For Christ also died for our sins once for all. He, the just, suffered for the unjust, to bring us to God. In the body he was put to death; in the spirit he was brought to life. And in the spirit he went and made his proclamation to the imprisoned spirits."
Since the scriptures let us know that Jesus was dead for parts of three days, Jesus wasn't alive in the spirit and preached to those imprisoned spirits, until after he was resurrected in the spirit. So just as the scriptures say Jesus was dead for three days.
Those who believe that Hell, which is called Sheol and Hades holds spiritual dead persons are believing like those who worshipped false gods who didn't believe in death, but believed death was a doorway to another plain of existence. Those who worshipped false gods believed that human beings have souls or spirits that separate at death and go to a place called, Hell, or Hades which if they were unrighteous went to the part of Hell or Hades that punished such people with all kinds of punishment including fire. If those who died were considered to be righteous they believed they went to that part, of Hell, or Hades called paradise.

Genesis 2: 7 teaches us that human beings are living souls not that human beings have living souls. Genesis 2:7 states, "And YHWH God went on to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living person."
We have to understand also that this "breath of life" can also be translated as "the spirit of life."

Hi all,

Well, I'm for Jesus going into Hades. But Hades is not hell. Hades is the grave. The place of rest that all the forefathers went to upon their deaths. The place where all of the dead go to rest before judgment. Jesus was in Hades immediately after his death and for whatever time was needed, up to three days, where he also preached unto those waiting in their graves, the good news of God's salvation.

That's where I believe that Jesus was, and it coincides pretty accurately with what the Scriptures tell us.

God bless,
Ted
