American flag, Christian flag, Bible.... (My mom still makes us do them when we do family altar...)

Though if you ask me, it's pointless. What's the point in getting children to pledge allegiance to the US flag or any other flag when they can't understand what that entails? How does it teach anything other than blind allegiance?

Shut up slave! (jk)

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Galatians 5:6 NIV

Flags do not save us...THE BLOOD OF JESUS SAVES US.

That's what patriotism is. It's the religion in which government is believed to be some sort of saving entity.

Those who seek to free themselves from patriotism are the apostates deemed terrorists.

Thank you Jesus Christ for your true salvation.

Jesus says, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32 NKJV

There is no flag of God to my knowledge, only man made ones. However, I don't think being patriotic to your country is wrong either, if anything it is encouraged as it is written in Romans 13:7:
"Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor."-------this verse is specifically speaking about governments.

We should still respect those who are currently serving in our government even though we may disagree with their policies at times. We should also honor especially those have made the ultimate sacrifice so we can live freely and practice our faith, so with this being said pledging allegiance to the American flag is not sinful.

Not being patriotic doesn't mean you can't respect or honor. But I certainly will not pledge allegiance to corruption.

Exodus 17:15 KJV
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:

Exodus 17:15 NLT
Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-nissi (which means "the LORD is my banner").

Who is the ultimate master?

Acts 5:27-29King James Version (KJV)
And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Jesus told Pilate rightly that he had no authority at all except for the authority which God gave him. Now also in this verse we must understand that if the earthly government makes laws which are contrary to the laws of God, then the Christian is under no obligation to keep them. (Acts 5:29 KJV) Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. For example, in China if a woman has two children and she becomes pregnant again, the government can force her to have an abortion. Abortion is murder and therefore is against the law of God, so Christians are not to murder so they will attempt to disobey that law in obedience to God’s law. In the United States, we have something called the Federal Reserve and it was formed in 1908 by a private banking cartel and ratified illegally in 1913.

In 1914 the Internal Revenue Service was formed as the collection agency for the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve creates money out of thin air and then loans it into existence and charges interest. This is why we have serial wars so the government can keep borrowing from the Federal Reserve and continue to pump up the national debt. Resulting from the Federal Reserve, the United States went bankrupt in 1938. Both the IRS and the Federal Reserve are illegal, unconstitutional organizations in which the President of the United States can disband at a moment’s notice. Today about 40% of all income goes to the illegal Federal Reserve. Yet, in this country, despite Satan’s attempt to bankrupt the funding of the gospel, God has allowed enough money to be printed so that the Gospel can be well-funded. This verse also teaches that Christians should not be terrorists or anarchists.

YosefHayim,

I do agree that we should never blindly obey as some such as the Nazis did. However, as you mentioned above about what Jesus told Pilate about having no authority other than what God gave him, God does give government certain authority to enforce that you must obey or suffer the consequences. Some might ask what is that authority? It is written in Romans 13:1-5:

"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

America is very Babylonian. Even the Gov't. You got Zeus, A painting of George Washington depicted as a god (apotheosis), and the mayan calendar in the capital, and an Egyptian obelisk as a memorial to washington. There's barely any Christian references anywhere. The federal reserve act was deceitfully past, and has enslaved many. America is built on an "Ancient hope". Do you know what the ancient hope is? Certainly not a Christian foundation. What I'm supposed to be respecting here?

1 John 5:4-5King James Version (KJV) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

I've quipped for a long time that the American people need a new flag because old glory is the governments flag now.

The thing is though, that I'm neither a republican or a democrat. I'm a Monarchist. :wink

I will tell you what to respect:
You should respect it, because It is your right to disagree with Americas policies because of it. It's these ideals which were forged by men and women who stood and stand guard against people who would like nothing more than to take it away or take you away. Honor these people.

I respect what the American flag stands for and the freedom our soldiers have fought and died for, but I pledge my allegiance to the Lamb of God.

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

I have heard how Christians long ago
Were brought before a tyrant's throne
They were told that he would spare their lives
If they would renounce the name of Christ
But one by one they chose to die
The Son of God they would not deny
Like a great angelic choir sings
I can almost hear their voices ring

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

Now the years have come, and the years have gone
But the cause of Jesus still goes on
Now our time has come to count the cost
To reject this world, to embrace the cross
And one by one let us live our lives
For the one who died to give us life
Till the trumpet sounds on the final day
Let us proudly stand and boldly say

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

To the Lamb of God who bore my pain
Who took my place, who wore my shame
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
