noun: hero; plural noun: heroes; noun: hero sandwich; plural noun: hero sandwiches
  1. 1.
a person...who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.

I have many heroes, but most of them do not exist. I find my role models in literature and film, and occasionally in songs. Of course, any Christian "is required" to list Jesus as a hero, given His death on the cross for us. Aside from Him, who would you say is/are your heroes (real or imagined)?

Some of mine are, in no particular order:
1. Captain Malcolm Reynolds
2. Shepherd Derrial Book
3. Bruce Wayne
4. Captain Jack Sparrow
5. William Turner
6. Balian of Ibelin
7. Aragorn, son of Arathorn
8. Silas Marner
9. V
10. William Wilberforce
11. Steve Rogers
12. Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison
13. Brian "Head" Welch
14. SSG Matt Eversmann
15. My Brother-in-Law
16. My Best Friend, Brian

This is how Christ has changed me. My so-called "heroes" used to be...Andy Warhol+Edie Sedgwick, Morrissey, Thomas Szasz, various sociology and counter culture figure. And now... Jesus. Paul. Esther. My older, wiser Pentecostal friend in Georgia and her recently departed husband, for building a simple life together based on faith, hope, and love. My dad. The work-a-day Christians who are salt of the earth, a little light unto the darkness.

That is a good thing :)

Captain Jack Sparrow :confused2 Really? He's a kick, in the first movie anyway.

As often as he seems crazy, he is perhaps the most sane individual among his group, and despite his reputation and desires, he often does the right thing. When he cannot do the right thing and serve himself, he chooses to serve others at a great cost to himself.

Yes he does. I like his character. I've read that a lot of his character development came from Johnny Depp's ideas.
He acts so kookie and yet at the same time you know he's serious. Definitely a character that stinks in your mind.
