Who is an unbeliever?

I think it depends on what one defines as belief. I would define one who believes as one who trusts. If I believe in a friend or family member then I'm going to do what they say because I trust that they want what's best for me. I think the same logic is applicable to God. If that is true, then I assume an unbeliever would be one who does not do what God commands because they do not trust that God has their best interests in mind.

ask a muslim to define a non muslim or an unbeliever...he'd say exactly what you said.
I dont think so. They dont repent, receive and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, trusting in his blood to save them. They don't believed he died and rose from the dead to save them. Otherwise, they wouldn't kill them when they convert to Christianity.. Nor would they kill Christians who have never been Muslims.

They believe he is a Prophet though, but not God's Son. They're saying is God has no Son. They are waiting for another Messiah (Savior)

OK, you are going to say it's me too - aren't you? :gah

I just spotted your new signature line Classik. Having problems with the wife? :sad

Who is an unbeliever? The question may look so simple but...
The definition of believer/ unbeliever is very simple. Discerning who is really a believer is often not so simple. But the truth will be brought to light one Day.

"19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed." (Romans 8:19 NIV1984)

17 “They will be mine,†says the Lord Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. 18 And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not. (Malachi 3:17-18 NIV1984)

Heed the warning everyone who is not trusting in the blood of Christ to make them righteous before God. Man has no righteousness of his own. Only the righteousness of Christ can see a man through the coming judgment.

An unbeliever, whether unbelieving things of this world or things that pertain to God, is someone who lacks faith and or trust in anything that presents itself as truth without examining the evidence laid out before them.

So, what do you call someone who believes things without looking at the evidence? :confused There must be a word for them :chin

Try gullible, or in some casses ostriches, being hard hearted and stubborn. Some people believe anything they hear or read, and others have made up their minds without evidence because they don't want to believe and have to answer to God.

I don't feel like a gullible ostrich. Neither have I ever felt like I don't want to believe.

Let's take for instance Gods word. We believe it to be true because we have applied it to our lives to know for a surety Gods word does not come back void in us (proof)
The one who does not look at the evidence , but only (trust) what others say is not so much gullible, but is more a (follower) of others that may lead their path.
