I believe there was no ambiguity in Christs' words when HE commanded the following three things to us His fol.llowetrs ( notice Ice stopped using the word " believers" which is a watered down word for followers. Followers in my dictionary are those brothers n sisters in Christ who not only believed in Christ as savior BUT also choose to pick up their cross, deny their flesh and Follow Him ( much as Christ ordered). ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

By using the swine and pearls example I believe we are trying to avoid Gods commands of loving ALL. Jesus even commanded us to love the enemy and the ones who persecute, He reminds us there is no reward in only Loving those who love us.

Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
The Christian walk is a very hard ( but very fruitful--- shall I say eternally fruitful I find it difficult to love some people, But my love for the Lord is so deep that I am willing to try to love everyone. that is one of the greatest messages of Bible ( after fearing God and loving Hom and turning away from ALL sin to righteousness)
Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.
It's that love of Christ given to us by God's grace, even though we do not deserve it, that we need to love and pray for our enemies as we forgive them for they know not what they do.
