Who is Mystery Babylon ?

Babylon is a representation for LEGALISM!

Anyone who trusts in their human efforts to get right with God have rejected grace and are in BABYLON! Anyone who does not 100% completely trust in Jesus for salvation is in BABYLON!

That includes all Muslims, Buddhists, Jehovah Witness', Mormons, Seventh-day Adventists, Atheists and Cult members etc.

But notice, God has some of HIS PEOPLE in BABYLON, because Scripture says, COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE!

He saves them because Christ has died for them. Many whom God will not save are sincere and do not realize they are in Babylon. Those however are not God's People, Jesus will say to them Matt 7:23

23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Those Jesus is speaking to are sincere people in religion !

Indeed. The cause and captivity of the people of Jerusalem and Jews in general is found in many places in the text:

Romans 11:8
(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; ) unto this day.

They are in effect in spiritual captivity by that spirit God placed upon them. That is the real Babylonian captivity and it is a spiritual captivity.

Paul echoes this same matter here:

13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Gal. 4:
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children

These matters are abundantly clear when we understand that it is the god of this world that blinds minds and that God not only allows that, but directs it, exactly this way:

Mark 4:15
And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

There is an abundance of proof above and much more. But those who blame and accuse blinded Israel will never see it nor are they allowed to because they themselves are likewise blinded by those same powers.

Satan and devils, the power of the anti-Christ spirits ARE the blinding powers and the inhabitants of MYSTERY BABYLON.

Jersualem is the city that was mainly responsible for the death of the prophets. Its amazing how God decreed Israel to become a Nation again, perhaps to fulfill this prophecy in revelation..

No, no & no. God had nothing to do with Israel becoming a state in modern times.

No it's not to fill some unfulfilled prophecy in Revelation. You said it well in post #1. It was the fulfillment of Jesus' words (God's wrath upon Israel) that is in Revelation. This is what the book of Revelation is about. The revelation of Jesus Christ to Israel. Gentiles were just a "side-order" in Revelation!

What you are failing to understand is that,not all are or were chosen,however,just because they were not,does not mean they can't find and have the truth...

Only the Elect were chosen before the foundation of the world,what you need to ask youself is,why?All other's must choose God on their on......... free will.....

The injunction to "come out of her" in Revelation 18:4 is the same injunction Christ gave His disciples on the Mount of Olives!

Read Deuteronomy 28:15-68 and Leviticus 26:14-46 for the answers!

Freewill, and all works religions, cults, and all religions opposed to God's only way of saving sinners, and that is through His Electing Love in Christ Jesus. All these evil religions are ordained of God as a Judgment upon all who will not receive the Love of the Truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness, that means they have pleasure out of serving God out of the ways that seemeth right unto them apart from Christ being revealed in them. Prov 16:25

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
